There's a very good reason why Thor and The Hulk weren't around for Civil War. Because nobody is going to make those guys register.

It's a bit difficult to get upset about something you literally have no influence over.

Just fucking with you

Who said anything about villainy necessarily?
Villainy was a leap, but I don't like having one of my favorite film series held up as mutant propaganda. :(

Exactly. I suppose it's naive of me, but I'd have to hope that most superheroes wouldn't use their status to commit crimes, and that those who do would be outmatched by the moral and just superfolk.

Im slightly confused as to what registering superhumans would even accomplish? If someone has a power that emit a toxic gas when around people over the age of 10, are we going to force him among children? How do you enforce the millions of different mutations? No government can reasonably do that. And the people who decide to use their powers for evil will do so regardless.

A person like that would get quarantined just like anyone who has a contagious disease.

if theyre committing crimes, they arent superheroes anymore.

Why are people against the Registration Act when they support Batman having a super-computer holding all the information related to every single super-powered being in the DC Universe?

Because Batman is awesome, and the government is incompetent.

Who said I support that? Batman is nuts and shouldn't be trusted with that kind of information.

People seem awfully complacent about this idea. It disturbs the hell out of me personally.

And you seem to be taking a very idealistic stance on a very practical scenario. For the truly powerful superhumans/mutants, who is going to enforce the laws meant to control them? Even in the real world, laws don't generally amount to much without proper enforcement.

Not saying its mutant propaganda or anything of the sort, I'm just saying that if we're talking about how stuff would be in the real world we can't really point to a fictional world and say "but look how poorly it turned out there".

superhuman registry: never leaks into enemy hands.
batman's super computer: 24/7 access to anyone who wants it

batman isnt forcing superpowered beings to comply or be locked up. that and im sure shield has a note on the powers of most worlds heroes and villains anyway.

you sure about that? norman osborn was director of hammer.

I'd give Batman my Social Security Number if I had to. The guy's awesome.

So you're going to ignore the time villains hacked into Batman's computer and used the information to nearly kill the Justice League?

Batman is nuts and the only reason he gets away with what he does is because Gotham is a hellhole and Supes vouches for him.

I didn't know about that. Don't ruin Batman for me.

Batman's a good kind of crazy though, and I'd trust him with my personal information over anybody else.

i would never underestimate the channels norman osborn has and his capacity get the things he wants.

(Invincible Iron Man comics spoilers below)

Iron Man put the only copy of it in his brain and then systematically reformatted his brain to get rid of it. It was one thing that he managed to do right.

Unfortunately the process of rebooting his mind reset him to before all the Civil War stuff happened, so he has kind of been absolved for all the shit he pulled.

Eh, at least the Hulk still beat him up.

But back on topic, if super-powered individuals existed, I would not support a registration act because there's nothing to be gained in making them angry.

The Hal Jordan defense, always for the win.

If we had the power or means to control supers, then we wouldn't need special case laws for them.
