So... how really are WiiU accomplishments?

There are too many WiiU threads at the moment, but I could not find this info (maybe it is buried in the posts). How is the WiiU implementation of achievements/trophies (the accomplishments)? Are they visible in a public profile or something? Which launch titles support this feature?

There are no system wide achievements.

It would have to be implemented on a per game basis, like Metroid Prime collection on Wii.

Also, google search brings up more info.

Achievement unlocked: there are none

My main irk about the Wii U is lack of a System wide trophy/achievement feature.

I guess it could always be added like PS3's.

No one cares about collecting achievements on the WiiU. Everyone is too busy collecting "Yeah's" by drawing outstanding art in the Miiverse. That's our addiction.

I have been playing Mario for about 10 hours and have not seen any achivement like things. Are they buried somewhere?

Mario was supposed to have them according to Nintendo. I'm sort of getting the feeling that those turned out to be the little messages that you're able to post to Miiverse. Like catching Nabbit in under 20 seconds, taking no damage in a level or collecting all three coins in one run.

I hope they never add it. I'm sure there are plenty of people that want this but I'm not one of them. If they decide to go this route then I hope it's mostly non-intrusive like Steam's implementation with no arbitrary scores or points.

Watching ZombiU playthrough I'm confident that that game have UPlay stuffs in it, I don't know if it's accomplishments or whatever...
Can't possibly be online multiplayer stuffs

It's all in game. So far the best comparison I've seen it to compare to how Gears of War shows how close you are to getting an achievement.

For example in game in NanoAssault neo there is an in game list, that just checks off as you complete.

It's okay, but I honestly don't miss it. As long as games do like what NSMBU does where I get extra content for completing a task. That's nice to have, in encourages me to do something I wouldn't normally go for, ie: getting all the coins.

I have seen little mii personalized messages pop up through the miiverse on mario world map telling me so and so has accomplished something or other in the game.

If they kept a history of that for each player and flushed that out a bit more that could be pretty fun.

Sometimes I think achievements are added by developers just to create more "content" in their game, when their actual game is rather light on content. Completionists are driven to complete the achievements but they add very little value to the end product.

I hope they add system wide achievements, not just to have them but so everyone can be happy and we won't have to talk about this anymore. I rather have system wide achievements then 6 years of people complaining.

Are they completely gone in multiplatform games like Assassin's Creed and Black Ops 2?
No. Just like Wii games kn a per game basis there will be an achievment system inside the game. Afaik these games tie their unlocks and progression to those same achievements. They just are reported and recorded by Nintendo.

Yeah Steam's is brilliant.
