I post all the time about how I only drink water. I went on a date today (it didn't go well) on which I tried coffee for the first time. It started off terrible, but was eventually tolerable by the time I was finished with it. It took me about two hours to drink one cup of it. I didn't really enjoy it, didn't feel any of the effects of the caffeine, and probably won't do it again anytime soon. People say it's an acquired taste but I really can't find any redeeming qualities. I put creamer and lots of sugar in it but it didn't really help.

goodbye coffee

More for me, then~

ime you keep drinking it and one day you'll look back and realize you started liking it at some undefined point in time. It's good for cardiovascular health and has antioxidants and junk and no calories so I think it's worth acquiring a taste for. It has a really bold and unique taste that isn't comparable to anything else, and it's still a refreshing beverage somehow.

Is this a "I tried alcohol for the first time" parody thread?

As someone who has been drinking it in breakfasts since primary school, It actually sort of blows my minds the idea picturing myself having it for the first time just now.

im a bit worried about it lately but it really is addictive and it's been years of it

mornings are virtually impossible if I tone it down

drink more decaf. start day with reg, then make half reg half decaf, then switch to decaf like after three or whatever, that's what I do. I still drink lots of coffee but I don't worry about consuming absurd amounts of caffeine.

Go get Frappucinos like the rest of us. You don't even have to get the coffee versions but you still get the cool Starbucks cup so you fit in with me.

I can recommend Juan Valdez if you wanna try again OP

it's colombian coffee but there's stores in the US

edit: at least I think? or maybe they're getting there

Pro

- You're going to save money by not enjoying coffee.

Con

- Just like beer and wine for those that are able to enjoy it get we get a sensation that is pretty damn awesome. Hard to describe but when you have that perfect cup of coffee (or beer/wine if that's your thing) everything in the world just seems right again.

dang, it's moments like that one which continue to make me believe I'm missing out on something

Nah, taste is very much a person-to-person thing and coffee is pretty strange flavor-wise. There's different roasts and qualities to it, so you could try experimenting if you understand what it is you might want to get out of a coffee. But there's nothing wrong with just not caring for it!

Yeah, I don't like it.

I'm glad I don't need it like most people I know. I can wake up fully functional, no matter how little sleep I get, and caffeine has no effect on me.

I didn't care for it to start with, and it took me a while to work my way down from really sweet mochas to average-sweetness cappuccinos/lattes/flat whites.

Coffee still isn't my favourite drink by a long shot, but I enjoy a cup or two over the weekend. It has a nice social angle to it as well.

I know I should

but uhhhhhhhhhggnnnbbbbgggg

:b

Damn, OP straight ethered coffee. I'm sure we'll all stop drinking it now, right?

OP, not everyone's gonna like everything. But coffee is really good generally and pretty much well-liked by most of the world. You're on the wrong side of history here, my friend.

Maybe the date wasn't good because she saw you nursing that cold cup of coffee the whole time?

people who put sugar on coffee are crazy

not only in a "ruins the taste" way but also in a "i'd be a fat fuck by now" way

you're doing it wrong, you're supposed to drink it black and down it like your old man's whisky.

I don't drink coffee either, but not because I don't like the taste. I don't drink it because I maintain my energy level without relying on caffeine.

I've been in situations where I could stay up 24 hours with no coffee while people who drink coffee would have 10 cups and still feel the crash.
It's better to be without coffee and train yourself to be awake without it.

Coffee is amazing and it tastes great. Alcohol too. Give your girl my number while ur at it boy I'll turn it out for u

people don't just drink coffee too stay awake dude

The brand was Stumptown Coffee if that helps inform you whether what I drank was of quality or not.

Since you loaded it up with creamer and sugar, it really doesn't matter what its quality was.

Anyways, It just might not be for you. Coffee wasn't really an acquired taste for me. I tried black coffee when I was about 8 or 9, and liked it from the very first sip. I found it disgusting with cream and sugar, though.
