You know, it could just be a fledgling. If it is, don't do anything to it. Fledglings are still fed by their parents on the ground. They learn to fly during this period, and trying to save them is not the best idea. I had a young blue jay with this problem, and I called some woman who rehabs birds.

Sure they do, how else would they provide milk for their young?

my cat is awesome and he stopped slaughtering birds a year ago, all of a sudden these stupid birds come in making noises and dive bombing my poor cat. I can't scare them off and I threatened them, insulted their mothers, called police, I even made a deal with the crows. Nothing worked.
Crows can actually hold a grudge against a creature or a face for years, and will deliberately harass and attack whenever they recognize it. They also share this knowledge with their comrades.

There's a nest in my backyard that gets repaired and reused by I'm assuming the same pair of birds every year.

They go from this

To this in a couple weeks, I think my dog may have gotten the other two

This is the father I think. No idea what kind of birds they are, the other parent is all dull and brown

Blackbirds!!! :D

I have a flock(not sure if it's the right word) of them living in a tree just outside my garden and they always come into my garden to feed along with their chicks. They've been here for the last few years and I swear they've been bringing their friends along. :lol

Really nice song from them too and they'll "speak" to you if you copy the song back. :)

I have a cool story to tell, i once found a baby canary in my house, kept it, start feeding it fruits, bread crumps and slowly worms, all with a pincer. It grew quite fast and bigger than the normal canary i seen, must be the bread crumps with fruit worm.

One fine day, i thought to taught it how to open the cage with the pincer during some feeding sessions. A few weeks later when i came back, the cage door was open the bird gone. So a bird can be taught from young.

The baby Barn Swallows all left the nest over the last few days :(

Mom and dad are still chilling and the babies are still around, but it's kind of sad how quickly they become indendent once they start flying.

One of the young birds tried to steal their mother's perch the other night when I was taking my dog out and the mom just kind of pecked at it's wind 2-3 times until she had knocked it off the perch and it found itself on the ground :lol

But yeah, after my running off of handy men and cats I was really glad when all of the babies made it. I stayed up worrying after one of them pretty much all night.

Magpies are awesome. I have one that patrols my area and sits around my garden. I'd feed it but I don't know to without attracting other things like mice.
