So i got donkey konga today

I badly wanted jungle beat but nowhere near where i work had it so i just picked this up today and wow i cant remember the last time i had this much fun with a game its so fresh and unique gets me even more hyped for the revolution!

So i have a question the bongos keep slipping off my lap wheres the best place to have them? and is donkey konga 2 worth getting for just new songs?

Oh yeah lastly i am getting more bongos asap :D

I bought DKa2 and its pretty good. I assume its the same as the first, but with added songs and maybe more modes? Hopefully Nintendo releases a third installment sometime this year to fill the void. Oh and get Jungle Beat asap. Terrific game. So much fun.

Well I bought both of them at the same time and dk 2 is much better thant the first one. Not just for the songs but all is much more polited.

dude, get JungleBeat ASAP --- that game makes you feel like you sprouted and extra chromosome and wanna beat on everything like a 'tard

my face would hurt so much after JungleBeat from grinning so damn hard.

My hands are starting to hurt :( but i love this game to pieces only thing its missing is some 2pac :lol but yeah if i enjoyed sitting on the floor i would try that.

This game is so simple and fun! gonna get my mother and my girlfriend to try this!

I've got JungleBeat. I love it. such a geat platformer. I usually hold the bongos in between my legs, or just sit on the ground. A Junglebeat sequal is needed.
Yeah my hands get tired too. That's part of the fun.

I have a little coffee table between me and the TV. I placed the bongos on that and had heavy books on both sides.
Wait, or was that for Taiko?

Donkey Konga 2 is spawn of Satan and George Bush with some Hitler genes thrown in. The game is great until the end of the match songs when you have to compete in a stupid rock-paper-scissors mini game. If you win, you get all the bonus points and if you lose, they get all your bonus points. wtf? they totally took a game that was about skill and turned it into a game of chance. They did the same thing with Mario Party by adding those stupid chance games in (I know you can turn them off, but they're stull retarded).

I don't care what anybody says, Donkey Konga is a great music game. I've been able to play it with my wife, my parents, my in-laws, friends, and just about anybody else that's willing to sit down for a second.

I really, really, really, hope that a Donkey Konga 3 comes out with a good track listing. Donkey Konga 2 has an awful track list, but the gameplay is still pretty dang fun.

All I remember Konga for is Oye Como Va on Gorilla mode. That was awesome.

That's probably my favorite single music game track....ever!

And yes, I have Guitar Hero and Gitaroo Man.

Yes, Donkey Konga rocks, we just don't seem to play it anymore though, which is why I've put up the game and 2 sets of bongos on Ebay. Any Aussies out there interested in the game should consider bidding, it's a fantastic title. :)

(sorry if you consider this spam)

Have I heard right that the Japanese versions have J-pop and J-rock music?

Do the American or PAL versions have J-pop or J-rock music?

Wow, I thought Konga 2's music was terrible. Definitely not Bongo music, at all. The system was a little better, but still, I hated the songs, except for some of the techno stuff.

Oye Como Va is the best! I played that in ninja mode. *dons cool sunglasses* And the Mario/Zelda/Donkey Konga themes were kicking rad.

Reiterated again: Get Jungle Beat.

Donkey Konga 2 had better gameplay options but a lousy selection of songs.

I'm wondering if Donkey Konga 3 will get released in the USA at this point...

Yep, which is dissapointing. JB ROCKS TOO!

Eh, the songs were much better, except it lacked video game stuff really. Mainstream + video game is the way to go.

The problem is that the songs are covers. USE THE REAL SONGS DAMMIT. And if you don't/can't, Nintendo, at LEAST make the covers not blow ass. Guitar Hero is how to do covers right. Sounding like an adult version of Kidz Bop = not right.

DK owns though. So much fun.

And like other people have said, get Jungle Beat. Now! One of the most fresh, unique, and enjoyable games this gen. Short, but lots of replay in getting the Platinums.

I have Jungle Beat but neither of the Kongas. This thread has peaked my interest for Donkey Konga. Where can I find it for cheap?

The problem with DK2 was that there wasn't any real variety in the music. The first title had a fairly wide selection of tunes covering many different genres... while DK2 consisted almost entirely of generic "modern mainstream music".
