Right. Because the drug wars between gangs, smuggling, extortion, and murders all related to illegal narcotics aren't a detriment to society at all. Definitely an opinion. Give me a fuckin break.

You're right, the fact that drugs are illegal is the problem. Not the fact that people use them.

You take part in it, you support the trade. Simple as that.

It's just basic supply and demand.

I think the tragedy here is the fact that we have young forum goers here who may stumble here and find people advocating drug use.

I'm relieved that most kids are smart enough to ignore ignorance.

Then again, some of the 13 year olds trolling Xbox or Dragon Age threads might be naive enough to take this thread wrong.

Tell me how drugs being illegal intrinsically (that is, necessarily) leads to the problems with illegal drug production.

Of course, it doesn't. Perhaps due to human nature, or the expected way people might act in the situation, the illegal nature of drugs may be more likely to lead to these problems, but "more likely" =/ "necessarily".

This reminds me of the thread about the girl who got raped numerous times after a party, where people seemed incapable of realising how "her actions made it more likely that she got raped" was not contradictory with the statement that "it wasn't her fault that she got raped". The government's actions make it more likely that the problems associated with illegal production are to happen. This doesn't make it their fault.
