Not everyone is going to enjoy the PSP, even if they think they will. A big monetary investment like this is worth thinking hard about, especially if you're taking it as a replacement to something else that you wanted. (As is the case with the original poster.)
DenogginizerOS said:The top games from 3rd party developers are mostly $50. Are you disputing this?
Besides, when did I say this was a problem? You jumped on me assuming I had a problem with this.
RevenantKioku said:I was out at a Media Play yesterday, found the UMD movie rack to be huge, and there were only 5 PSP games sitting on another shelf. Granted their going out of business and losing stock, but seriously, I had no idea how many UMD movies had been released.
But seriously, this game drought it getting sadder and sadder for this thing.
Wait for the "games worth playing" comments now.Agent X said:What game drought?
There were 4 games released this week:
WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2006
Midway Arcade Treasures: Extended Play
Ultimate Block Party
Armored Core: Formula Front
There were 6 games released last week:
Tokobot
Pinball Hall of Fame
Pac-Man World 3
The Sims 2
Prince of Persia: Revelations
World Championship Poker 2
Come on, folks, the old "PSP has no games" argument is seriously getting stale. It's got around 70 games out now in the US.

In fact adding them up the few that are listed at 50 bucks are just about all EA games. A few others like GTA or Xmen Legends 2 that are 50 bucks are so because they are full games like their console brethern and worth it. If you want to make a general blanket statement of pricing you would be more correct to say 40 buck average on games.

So now you're going to try and hide behind a completely different arguement?
An arguement, by the way, that I already made.
If you really want an Xbox360, don't buy a PSP.

DenogginizerOS said:Great list. When I said top games, I meant top sellers, which are $50 according to NPD. Look, I don't care about how many games are less than $50. All I was stating is that PSP buyers have to consider the costs of all the extras as well as games and $50 for any poratble game is a lot of money for some. I was trying to help, just as you have for making that fine list of great PSP games for less than $50.
$50 games. Are you prepared to pay that for a portable system?
RevenantKioku said:And aside from Tokobot, none of those are worth a dime. Just cause you've got volume doesn't mean you've got substance.
I already focused on the topic of the thread. I gave my inputs and the OP already bought his PSP.DenogginizerOS said:Actually, calling him a troll rather than focusing on the topic of the thread is what started this squabble. Why don't you just focus on your posts and let him focus on his?
1) giga pack or value pack? Giga
2) what game should I buy? Lumines and GTA (which you have done I see; well done)
3) dead pixel issue... how bad is it? I had one and it NEVER bothered me
btw NO DS vs PSP war bullshit here. Why separate the two? Buy both if you can!
Ponn01 said:But you didn't say that at first, that was not your original statement till I called you on it. This is what you said...
You said it as an absolute with no balance and it would be very misleading and negative to someone just browsing the thread who may not know actual pricing on PSP games. GTA is a top seller right now because of what it is, but it is worth the 50 because of it's pedigree. EA on the other hand puts out shit (besides Burnout Legends) and sells it at 50 and they do not deserve support. There are more then plenty great games at 40 and under prices that are to be picked up. Socom, Tokobot, Midway Extended Play, Ridge Racers, Virtua Tennis, Legend of Heroes, etc etc.
Well, lucky thing the rest of the world doesn't share your taste or opinion in games then.

RevenantKioku said:There are no games that are desirable to me for this system past the 5 I have, and yes kids, this could be you too!
Okay, I was wrong. I'd get these:
Tokobot - 29.99
Kingdom of Paradise - 39.99
And aside from Tokobot, none of those are worth a dime. Just cause you've got volume doesn't mean you've got substance.
RevenantKioku said:There is nothing you could even give me for the PSP right now that I wouldn't just sell off. For my tastes, the PSP is dead in the water. It's a great little thing to mess around with tech-wise, and there are a few imports, but the thing it does best (games) it's just still very weak title wise.
RevenantKioku said:Nah, I just went and looked through a bunch of $30 and $40 PSP games. Might as well stick to the $50 ones.

couple of questions

2) what game should I buy?

4) PSP region free? I can play imported games?

Ok, cool with me.RevenantKioku said:Inconsistent and confusing, I do believe.
I see nothing contrary instead that one, I already own a few PSP games and they were all $50 purchases and then two, I realized I made a mistake and would buy 2 of those games, and manned up to my error.

Link1110 said:Value pack. the only reason to HAVE a gig card is for homebrew, and the PSP you get with the giga pack doesn't let you PLAY homebrew, so it's kind of a catch-22.
