So is PSN down for everyone or just some?

I seemed to have lucked out. While Bloodborne did try to put me in offline mode a couple of times, I was still able to get back online.
 
Seems to be working fine for me now ... I jinxed it didn't I? I totally jinxed it. Well hey at least I can check out the sales now.

Well, in the end I had to use voice commands, because I couldn't find any button. "Playstation" - "Wolfenstein" - "Start". Cheers.
 
For people who can't launch games, go to settings, network, and uncheck connect to Internet. Especially for PS plus games this fixed it for me when trying to boot Race The Sun
 
My brother-inlaw said he heard something about it today about it being down.. He's playing FFonline right now. Idk... He said something like playing within a certain amount of time, it wouldn't be a problem. He can't use PSN or buying options... but he can still get online.

It's probably not right in any sense but thats what i heard before it went down

You can attempt to mitigate an attack as much as you want but if someone has the resources and desire to beat it they will. Cloudfare and others are basically absorbing the large traffic and dispersing it across their network.

At the end of the day you can deter but you ultimately can't prevent it completely.

I'm able to access the Canadian PSN website with no problems. Not sure if this helps but sometimes a force refresh at a network issue with Playstation's website helps me (CTRL + F5 to do this).

You can still do it. I bought the trilogy off of the PSN website and then signed into the PS3 system. I connected fine, but as far as playing online, it's a no-go. Ironically, I can't see the store on PS3 or PS4 at the moment.
 
It's up for me and I just had a match on rocket league. It showed over 1,200 players online as well. Currently have 55 friends showing up online as well, but the ps store is not loading.

Yeah, I'm not super worried about it, just annoyed. Only thing I'm probably going to get is Okami HD so it wouldn't be the absolute end of the world anyway. More annoyed in principle that this keeps happening, and Sony always gets it worse. You can only mitigate DDoS attacks to a point so Sony's not entirely to blame, but given how much better MS handles it and how much more frequently Sony goes down then they do, they definitely deserve some shit for this since they have to be slacking to some extent.

what i dont get is how the network for ps3 remains fine but the ps4 one isnt, different servers or soemthing?
