I won't pay for a freaking avatar, ever.

Dude.. it's a buck or less most of the time. A total drop in the bucket. You probably earn that much while taking a leak at work.

As for the OP, the 2nd and 3rd ones are the best because they're clean. The other three not so much... very cool for your site though, congrats!

You should try to cover controversial topics in your podcast, and include a largely fan/ community driven segment as well.

There is nothing people like to listen to more than controversy and questions/topics they brought up themselves.

It's more about the principle than the price. For example, if they charged 60 cents for toilet paper in a public bathroom it would definitely be worth it, but some people might take umbrage at that.

How about no? Thank god for competition.

Competition blows. By competition I mean what Sony has for gamerpics.

Seriously, you're comment is off the charts in how irrelevant it is.

You would think that by offering free pics, prices would have went down for the 360 avatars, to most of them being free instead of a handful (that is, if you didn't buy the game as you get free ones with many games).

But Sony's "competition" hasn't provided any competition because there's simply nothing for gamerpics besides the 96% we've seen since launch.

There simply hasn't been any competition in this regard.

I'd buy it, just so I could help find other gaffers on live. Working 3rd shift puts my gaming time around 08:30 - noon EST, when most people are at work.

Man, I wish I could put up free gamerpics of my blog. :/

It may be cheap, but can you live with the shame?

Shame of paying to use someone else's IP which they rightfully own?

I'm making an argument for creators of content having more control over their content, rather than for having to pay for them.

It's like making ripoff T-shirts. You can slap on a fake Nike logo onto a shirt, or you can buy one. I wouldn't be ashamed in buying it. Sure, gamerpics are a whole lot cheaper to make, but that doesn't mean the creator of the pic shouldn't be compensated.

It would be nice for these creators of gamerpics to give their stuff for free (it would advertise their game...look at Uncharted, it had pics long before release and it was free exposure)...but since we aren't seeing free Sonic avatars or Street Fighter avatars on PSN...maybe these IP owners are interested making money with their intellectual properties.

Well... OP had the guts to pimp his gamerpics so I bought them. First time ever too.

I will admit that I feel slightly dirty, but I had over 8000 points on my account so I don't mind actually spending them now and again. :D

Hmm didn't know you had to pay for gamerpics.
There are plenty that are free and many games actually come with pics. I have never paid for a gamerpic or theme, but I have to say that I would splurge on a GAF avatar.

I know that many of the websites are using Disruptive Publishers to get their gamer pictures up.

Unfortunate. I've designed an entire portfolio of Xbox 360 themes and gamerpics (some abstract, some game-based, much like the PS3 themes I do). I submitted a mini-sample of it some time ago, but it doesn't seem as though anything has materialized.

pls share. love your art stuff obviously.

Thats too bad because I know I'd spend a few points on some of your work. I think most people who have appreciated some of the art you've done (PS themes, Forza2 cars, etc etc) would likely buy a picture pack.

I'm surprised you haven't heard anything if you've officially submitted them.
