So, PS Vita....Actually looks...Good?

Turn that DJMAX maybe into your No. 1 priority, then import Project Diva f. Rhythm gaming is a genre I haven't really been into (My Guitar Hero 3 guitar is collecting dust). Those two games combined have easily given me more than 200 hours of playtime... And I'm still playing them!

So I guess you'd choose DJMax over Project Diva if you had to choose between the two?

Don't get Modnation, seriously. It doesn't even have online. That's reason enough to not get it.

You might not want to double dip, but get Sonic anyway since you can play that online.

Edit: And double "don't get" Black Ops. It's got some really poor design decisions and I regret starting it.

If you're going to get Plus (and you should), make sure you don't wait for the store to update on Monday, as there will probably be a game replaced. You'll want to sub and activate everything that's available as soon as possible (all you have to do is "checkout" the free games; you don't have to download them).

I plan on getting today out Friday, that v way I won't miss out

It's not bad if you're getting it as part of a bundle, but it really does make you long for a fully featured CoD on the system with stuff like gyro aiming and such huh?

Uncharted's gyro aiming is amazing, I might add.

Welp, I guess I'll settle for a 16 GB card then.

sony store has vita memory cards on sale right now, $35.99 for the 16GB. Just bought one myself for my new vita...might have buyers remorse spending that much for so little memory though....

The Vita is a fantastic handheld for some people.

It works really well for me because I love rpgs such as Persona 4 and puzzle games such as Lumines, but my attention span is pretty inconsistent for playing them. With the Vita I can just put it down in sleep mode at any time without having to worry about it. I rarely bring my handhelds out of the house, but sleep mode and the ability to play without wires and move to a different room easily makes them (Vita and 3DS) work really well for me.

edit:

Also the Vita has a pretty gorgeous screen.. I don't play games for graphics, but damn does Persona 4 look good on it.

So, I decided I'm gonna get a Vita on Friday. After a lot of though I realized that there are actually a lot of games that I want. Even better, most of them are exclusives. So far, I have my eyes on:

- LBP Vita
- Gravity Rush
- Person 4 Golden
- Uncharted Golden Abyss
- PSASBR
- Modnation Racers
- Wipeout 2048
- Disgaea 3
- Resistance Burning Skies (maybe)
- DJ Max Technicka Tune (maybe)
- tons of PSN games

Anything else I'm missing? I really want to get the AC3 bundle, but it appears to be sold the fuck out everywhere. I'd prefer a white one, since it's go well with my white DS3. I could get one off Sony's site or pay more on Amazon, but I actually want to have it in my hands on Friday, without extra costs from shipping or scalping. Oh, and the 4GB memory card is a nice little plus, especially since those proprietary little fuckers are so expensive.

So. Thoughts? Advice? Help?

My advice would be to put Tactics Ogre and Jeanne D'Arc ahead of Disgaea 3 if you haven't played them. They're both excellent. Especially Tactics Ogre. A few of those games on that list are few with PS+ if you're in the US, so consider that. And definitely get Sonic Racing over Modnation.

Oh...WAIT...

I completely forgot. To play imports, I have to format my mem card, right? You can only have one profile per card, I know that. But how in the world does your profile dictate what physical games you can play? DLC, sure. But for retail games, that makes no sense. The Vita is region free. Don't tell me I need two cards, or somehow, find the US version of DJ Max.

You can import any kind of physical game, but DLC won´t work on it. The Vita needs to be formated to log in your other accounts.

i keep seeing this - even if you don't care about golf games? is it like mario kart for golf games or something? kinda curious here

I assumed this was the case, but it is not. The game is incredibly fucking complicated, and after looking at a brief guide as to how the different types of spin/weather conditions/etc. work I decided the game wasn't for me (after purchasing it, unfortunately).

Go all in face first. Its a beautiful piece of technology, especially if you have a 3DS already, its in another league and the games hold their own.

I never played golf before (virtual or real one ) and it was enjoyable experience for me :)

I mostly bought it because it was getting so much praise on Eurogamer forum so i was curious and it hit low 15 euro price on psn store months ago.

Altrough i'll admit i suck badly at playing it :D

I don't care about golf games but love HSG. I played the demo a ton and just picked it up for Christmas. Try the demo, it's great.

And I think it's only $9 on PSN. No-brainer IMO.

Get Motorstorm RC if you like racing games, beating leaderboard/ghost times and a challenging game that requires good hand-eye coordination. Really addictive and cheap as well. Crossbuy, though I prefer the Vita version.

Pinball Arcade is good if you enjoy realistic pinball games and you get the PS3 version as well.

You are going to wonder where the time goes with Persona 4 Golden, man. It's so good, enjoy.

Isn't it just? If that was the only game I ever bought for for my Vita, I be satisfied with my purchase of the system.

I think AC:L gets too much stick. The story is solid and the visuals and sound are top notch as far as portables go. Plus you get to play a black female lead character + no stupid science fiction modern day cruft to get in the way + voodoo. It is worth checking out despite what all the haters keep saying.

Plus the white vita is really nice. :-)

Yup it does, after all the above recommendations i say try the burning skies demo,it's SP is decent and the MP while fun has iffy frame rate.

From that list I would remove PSASBR, Modnation Racers and Resistence. Add NfS:MW and AC3:Liberation.

Check out Sound Shapes, my favourite Vita game.

yes MS RC is awsome.

From another thread:

Guys I have done a quick 180 on Need for Speed Most Wanted.

I was shitting on the game design however, I have put in some time just before of the awesome technology. I drive around and I am just puzzled how powerful this system is.

I love my Vita.

It takes practice.

Of course I played golf games off and on when I was younger, including the original hot shots, so it wasn't that deep of a learning curve for me, but if you are just jumping into it for the first time, it can be a bit jarring. Although, the last two, ESPECIALLY the last course can be a huge bitch.

Vita acquired. The effort it took to get this was worth it

Grats on the Vita! I use mine almost every day. Eliminage Original (psp game) has been soaking up a lot of hours for me this week but I'm still playing Persona 4 and NFS Most Wanted as well.

I echo the Unit 13 recommendation. I enjoyed the game and consider it well worth the purchase.

Vita is the best gaming hardware I've ever owned. Absolutely love it. Shame it's not catching on but I hope Sony eventually wakes up and gives it the support it needs to get more developers on board.

I'm happy with the game library as it stands, though.

Jeanne D'arc didn't really grab me but I second Tactics Ogre. Also, Wild Arms XF is the secret best Strategy/RPG on the system. It's like Final Fantasy Tactics with crazier classes. Some of the reviewers didn't like it because it requires actual strategy (you frequently need to change classes since the objectives vary from battle to battle) but ignore them; it's awesome. It's also only $10 on the PSN.

As far as standard RPGs go, The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky is the best PSP RPG exclusive. Be sure to pick it up after you finish Persona 4 Golden.

I hope you all guys enjoy it a lot. When you actually look into the games catalogue it's an awesome machine for something hasn't even been out for a year.

PS+ only made it better.

Yeah, they should do those demo stations like they did nearing the end of the PS2 days. There was like a truck that went to different locations. Just got to get it into the hands of the people. There doesn't seem to be much of a marketing push with SCEA.

Nobody should ever question whether the Vita is a badass system in 2012. The cloud hanging over it is its future, but if you're having fun now who cares?

Picked up DJ Max Technika Tune last night. It's basically Elite Beat Agents with a bunch of catchy Korean songs (mostly pop, although there are some other genres in there).

It's like someone made a game just for me.

Technika Tune is easily the best thing I've played on the Vita. It's an absolute must have.

Hot Shots Golf is an incredibly good series. I recommend it highly. The Vita one is like $8 on sale for Plus members now. Buy it.

These days the store is filling up quite nicely and 16GB cards don't cut it anymore. Definitely get a 32gb
