So, Redout vs Fast Racing Neo/RMX

Just played fast racing neo on the gamepad. HOLY smoke, that game looks awesome and probably even more on the switch in handheld.

You are in for a treat if you havent tried it. Such a gem.

I'm getting both. RMX just to support Shinen, and Redout because I was already curious about that title anyway.

Good times fir scifi racing fans on switch. Maybe one day we'll see Fzero too.

I've only played Redout in VR and Fast Racing Neo on WiiU...

I had way more fun with Fast Racing Neo, but the reason for that could be that I don't think Redout is especially fun to play in VR, maybe in non-VR it is a completely different game. Have not tried that out though.

I like the orb system of Fast Racing Neo and if there is something I cannot stand in high speed sci-fi racing games it's weapons during the race against AI. I hate that with a passion.

A lot of negativity about Fast Racing Neo in this thread, I'm kind of surprised.

I really liked FRN on the WiiU. It's just unforgiving and you need to develop your skill to play it. I didn't have a serious issue beating all of the cups. It's only $20, so I can't help but recommend it.

With that said, I don't think I'll double dip. I've never played Redout so I'll look into that, but I think I'll just remain feverishly hoping for a new F-Zero. The true king.

The problem with both these games is that neither play like F-Zero, those perfect and precise controls are nowhere to be found here. Redout plays out like a Wipeout imo, be ready for float controls. Fast Neo is somewhat in between Wipeout and F-Zero, no floaty nonsense but there's still a distinct lack of total control over your car.

I guess the primary choice you have to make is for or against floaty controls. Both games are novel but got stale surprisingly fast for me, way faster than any F-Zero game or even Wipeout games which I'm not even a fan of. I'd rather skip both of these and wait for the never happening F-Zero GX remake, or even another F-Zero X VC release. If I had to choose I'd pick Fast RMX because at least it feels more unique and is more visually pleasing in a speeding kind of way.

FAST Racing NEO is much better than Redout IMO, so of course I'm going with RMX, no question. But I might get both, especially if there are physical versions :x

Redout was a disappointment, the controls are way too mushy and unresponsive. Definitely not in the vein of F-Zero.

I bought it day one and I think the same.

BallisticNG is the true successor of WipEout, but it's only in PC (although it's free)

Alas, we still don't have any true successor of F-Zero. I wish...

Ahhhhhh

I can't make a new thread since I'm new, but I'm playing Super Pilot right now:

It actually is F-Zero, but with a track editor.

They really nailed the feel (it's like GX) and I was surprised at how transferable my piloting skills were.

I almost can't believe it lol

I think the only thing missing at this point is the health recharge areas.

(you regain health by finishing a lap, which is potentially kind of boring and I hope they change that)
