I remember a thread here about the new ED many months ago, and while it was catchy I find it weird there was a thread about it in the first place. But eh, why not easily the best opening in the franchise.

It's so shonen it hurts. And crossdressing James.

Maybe possible hints in Z? The episode showed how Squishy (Zygarde Core) functioned, there are possible new badges (not too different), and how Zygarde Cell works (they're like invisible cameras).

I wonder if it will reflect the game? Since Squishy is definitely one of the 50% Zygarde and there's a 50% Zygarde in Team Flare.

I think it is because greninja cannot mega evolve, he probably feels weak.

Well let's give a backstory of Ash's Froakie

It was different from other Froakie. He was a loner who preferred to train and hone his skills, so much so that the other Froakie harassed him. There he realized that humans are the key of becoming stronger. However, because he is a starter, he is given to rookie trainers who don't got what it takes, or those that easily give up on him. Ash not only saved him but also saw that he could become stronger with him. He developed love for Ash as does Ash to him. No not bonds or friendship, love. Said love is the key to his mysterious form

Now the OP has no context since it hasn't happened yet. Considering his personality, either he gets defeated that he feels shame that he lost (it happened before, he got defeated by a Sylveon and was a sore loser on that). Or maybe Greninja nearly dies and their love for each other resurrects them or something.

A mixture since they dropped serious mode. They have joke moments, but can have serious moments too. More akin to early Team Rocket than DP Team Rocket

well yeah it hasn't stopped him, most things in the anime never have regardless of whether or not they should logically. removing the certainty that ash must always triumph and put the team in more objective light, and it's easy to deduce that three out of the five having a weakness to rock, while the fourth and fifth has a weakness to a different type (electric) that one of the other pokemon share a weakness to, does not make for a very competitive team. take five out of the six ash used in the OS or Sinnoh, and Kalos Ash goes down. Gliscor with stone edge would fuck this team up something fierce
