Are there any good genius women Marvel? I can think of a couple but they're all evil.

Not that I think they necessarily need a token gal, but it says a lot when your "Most brilliant and powerful team" is a bunch of (mostly white) older dudes.

I think the smartest female character in the Marvel Universe (not counting Cosmic Marvel) is actually Reed's 3-year old daughter. Probably a bit young for this team.

I just want an ongoing comic where Batman and Black Panther team up and are badass forever and ever. Is that too much to ask?

Also I wish Doomwar had a somewhat better ending because by all rights Wakanda and Latveria should perpetually be in a cold war as superpowers on Marvel's version of Earth.

Beast is an Illuminati? What happenned to Xavier?
You might want to sit down....

Only ones I can think of off the top of my head.

If they need a representative for Mutants, I suppose Beast is a pretty good choice. Other than Namor, the team is stacked with big brains.

That's unfair - Namor is the highly intelligent, cultured king of Atlantis. If someone's writing fails to reflect that in his character it's their fault, not Namor's.

Also I can't wait for T'challa and Namor to get into an argument, where Reed or Stark try to but in and they go "STFU while kings are talking"

I am such a fanboy

I meant in comparison to Reed, Tony, T'Challa, and Beast.

Flash '40 - Quicksilver '64
Green Lantern '40 - Nova '76
Green Arrow '41 - Hawkeye '64
Black Canary '47 - Mockingbird '71
Darkseid '70 - Thanos '73
Doom Patrol June '63 - X-Men Sept '63
Suicide Squad '59 - Thunderbolts '97

etc, etc.

Most of those are stretches. Just because characters have similar powers doesn't mean they are knock offs. Especially when we are talking about something as generic as running fast. Green Arrow and Hawkeye were both Robin Hood knockoffs by your logic.

Thunderbolts also had nothing in common with the Suicide Squad for its first 100+ issues.

Maybe so, but I think it would be fair to say that Namor's strengths lie in other areas - military tactics, political subterfuge, sociology, mysticism. Subby may be the Hulk of the team, but that's not to say he's not a genius in his own right.

Green Lantern of 1940 is nothing like Nova.

Green Arrow is more similar to Robin Hood than Hawkeye. Unless you're claiming every hero with a bow is a ripoff of GA.

Also, your list is missing a few Marvel heroes. Captain America, Iron Man, Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four, etc.

You know, the ones that are actually popular?

Not even Plastic Man can stretch that far. Most of those are superficial to the point of silliness. Eveyrone know Green Lantern is a ripoff of Lensman.

He is a genius of love making.

nova and green lantern are nothing alike outside of the corp, and even then, they didnt become similar until very recently

I haven't read these comics in forever, but I check up on Wikipedia from time to time. All this AvX stuff just makes me wish that Marvel would get the xmen film rights back, and reboot the series in a fashion that has them butting heads with the Avengers a lot. A team of "super heroes" vs a team of "super but hated heroes," and how they process their obligations and relationships with humanity. I think this new dynamic here could be a pretty interesting way to tie them into the existing film universe. An xmen not run by a magnanimous Xavier, but rather a no-nonsense take-no-prisoners Cyclops.

I don't remember when Xavier died, it was during AvsX? I read it but only really remember how much of a douche cyclops was (even more than usual!)

i like em both, but they dont belong together.

wait dont you like falcon?

I don't like Falcon but i don't hate him. I think his power set is dumb. Cap movie in all likelihood make changes to it so thank god for that. A large part of apathy towards BP is something I blame on Marvel. Give the dude the treatment he deserves by giving him an ongoing and fleshing out his world. All he is reduced to nowadays is cameos and special appearances which somehow try to depict how cool, badass and awesome he is.

Every appearance is boiled down to that. At least that's what it feels like to me. There is gotta be more to Panther. Invest in him and get his stories to show some range.

Except NONE of these are remotely similar besides powers.

Black Panther seems like a cool character, would be nice to have a film about him.

Does he have to do anything at all with Marvel's Avengers?
