So what's the best game for each current gen console?

PS3: Motorstorm
Wii: Dont have one, but probably Metroid or Zelda
360: Don't have one, going to assume Halo 3 if other posters are to be believed
 
PS3: Warhawk
Wii: Paper Mario/Metroid
360: Don't own one. But I'd probably be all over Forza. Bioshock and Halo aren't my cup o' tea.
 
360: Bioshock
Wii: honestly, Wii Sports. We're still playing it to this day.
PS3: Uhh. Oblivion came out for PS3, right?
 
360: Blue Dragon
XBLA: CV:SOTN
Wii: Zelda
VC: Sin and Punishment
PS3: I haven't really played anything on PS3 for that substantial a time period, so I don't know. I'd probably like Super Stardust HD the best out of everything I've seen for it, though.
DS: Etrian Odyssey or Kirby Canvas Curse
PSP: Every Extend Extra
PC: Orange Box

Ouch, that's gotta hurt . . . a download arcade game as the best game on PS3. (Yes, it is a great game but that is quite the statement about the state of PS3 disc-based game library.)

Wii: Metroid Prime / Zelda: Twilight Princess (tie)

360: Gears / Bioshock (tie)

PS3: Warhawk

DS: Elite Beat Agents

PSP: don't play mine enough anymore :( POWER STONE COLLECTION !
 
Only have an Xbox 360, but for that the best game imho is still Oblivion :).
If talking exclusives, then Gears of War (Until later this year when it switches to Forza 2 for me personally)
 
360 - Guitar Hero 2
PS3 - WarHawk
Wii - Metroid Prime 3


Fun fact, approximately one in sixty people feel Gears of War is the best game on the 360.
 
360- Halo3/Blue Dragon/Viva Pinata

I dont have the other systems, but if I was to guess which games are must haves this year:
Wii-Twilight Princess/ Smash/Galaxies
PS3-Orange Box/Uncharted/Warhawk
 
As an owner of all of Nintendo's published games and playing a handful of others at a friend's house (RE4 Wii, Trauma and Rayman) I would say Excite Truck based on the fact that it's so thrilling every single time.

To be fair, I'd say GeoWars RE is still one of the best 360 games too, and it's library is bursting with greats. The VC has been Wii's saving grace imo too.

Don't count out the downloadables. :D

DS: Pokemon Diamond/Pearl and Advance Wars DS, and Elite Beat Agents.
PS3: Super Stardust HD*
PSP: Tales of Eternia and Tales of the World
Wii: Super Metroid


*Going by videos, anyway, these games are incredible.


In the future:

PS3 will add LBP to its lineup along SSHD. PSP will add Star Ocean: First Departure and Star Ocean: Second Evolution, but subtract Tales of the World for a solid top three. Wii will get Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
I have no idea what to do with DS, because Advance Wars DS 2 is coming and EBA2 is probably coming, yet I can't bring myself to take off anything else on the list. So I guess DS illegally gets a top five.
Wait, if DS can get a top five, I guess PSP can too. So leave Tales of the World in there, and also add Tales of Rebirth.

Edit: Oh man, I forgot about Dragon Quest IV. Add that to DS for a top six.

Leaving out Half-Life, mine would be:

360: Oblivion
PC: WoW
Wii: Zelda
PS3: Jak and Daxter

(yes, I went there, there's nothing we want to play on the system...my roommate has a $600 PS2 emulator we're running a $10 copy of JnD on...sue me)

When it came out - and for a long time after - it was the game that I got most enjoyment out of on any platform, leaving my Wii and 360 gathering dust.

That's quite the statement about how badly all systems need more simple twitch arcade games and fewer tedious and repetitive FPS titles or minigame compilations.

People still feel the Zelda charm through the brilliant art direction, sense of exploration, and well crafted dungeons. Many folks like the Hyrule fantasy setting a lot and prefer Twilight Princess's scale of that world compared to Metroid's more isolated alien tour.

warhawk is actually better than folding
 
Honestly, for me thus far:

PS3:
1) Warhawk
2) Resistance (Or Heavenly Sword)

Wii:
1) Super Metriod (I'm 100% serious for my personal opinion)
2) Metriod Prime 3 (Or RE4)

360
1) Bioshock (Yes, Bioshock)
2) Forza 2 (Racers > Me)
 
Well, instead of trying to say which game is the best, I can name my favourites for each system:
Wii: Excite Truck or WiiSports. I haven't played ET too much.
Xbox 360: Blue Dragon (I love JRPGs)
Playstation 3 : Warhawk (The only game I've not bought over PSN for the console)
DS: Far too many great games to choose one : Sonic Rush, Puzzle Quest, Anno 1701, Advance Wars, Animal Crossing, ect.
 
360: Halo 3
Ps3: Haven't played it yet but the game i am most interested in is Resistance.
Wii: Zelda

Ds: Zelda and FF3. Dunno what to choose.
Psp: Haven't played it yet either but Jean d'arc looks interesting.
