So what's the digital/physical split on GAF?

I still buy physical copies because I like having the freedom to sell them, but I can't deny the lurking appeal of having an entire library available at all times.

So are you all digital? All physical? A mix?

Everything I can get physical, I will. I'll only actively search out digital for games I don't own the consoles for. I'll still take free stuff though.

This gen I'm 100 percent digital. As I've gotten older I've fallen out of the collector mentality. I'll probably be dead within the next 20 years, so it seems kind of pointless to keep collecting useless shit.

Usually when I buy physical it's either for a game I really like or I know I will want to sell the game when I'm done. I buy digital for games that I know I will want on my HDD at all times such as a online FPS.

Digital unless its cheaper physical for some reason. I really dislike clutter. Sucks cause I have no idea where a lot of my old physical 3DS games are. Fell behind a shelf or something. Digital eliminates this issue for me!

What did you say? "USELESS" ?!.. HELL I will take that stuff off your hands! Haha.

PC: 99% digital
3DS: ~10% digital (mostly Ambassador games)
Vita: ~10% digital

I'm uncomfortable going digital on consoles / handhelds, but digital is always extremely convenient.

Pretty mixed, whatever is cheaper really. PSN sales has made my Vita and PS3 collection be mostly digital now. I prefer physical but those flash sales are tempting.

100% digital on PC

once I get a ps4 though, will definitely try to get bestbuy's GCU for cheaper physical games

On consoles:
All physical because I enjoy having rights and ownership.

Digital when I have no choice, but I do it with frowning eyebrows and suspicious mind.

On pc:

All digital because Optical drives are so 1995...

3DS: all digital simply for convenience
PS4: mix (though I prefer physical, I get digital if it's cheap)
Wii U: physical (I have a few retail titles due to promotions for free, so I'm all out of space)

For consoles I generally go digital for games that I don't think I'll care about that much and physical for games that I know I'll want to hang onto forever. For Vita I go digital unless there's a special physical edition with extra goodies.

Mostly digital. I only buy physical if it's either something I want to guarantee I have forever (GTA,MGS, Nintendo games) or if I buy day one. Not that I am against buying full price, but more because physical or digital most games that will have future content I like waiting for a full package.

And I love digital sales because maybe it is a license not physical property but it's new. I hate buying used.

Unless PS4 had a 50TB harddrives, i wouldn't buy digital games. Physical almost all the times.

I'm pretty sure that doesn't matter, the physical games install all the data off the disks anyway. I'm with you though for the most part I'm physical only. Only digitals I have are the free games, BF4 as it was really cheap, and Zombie Army Trilogy.

I prefer physical but often did (past tense) digital for preload/sales/impulse buys.

Since all that garbage with psn preorders of revelations 2, I'm done with that. My ps4 licenses are still busted after 3 months.

Digital on pc is fine.

I still buy physical always unless it's a digital-only game or a significant discount on digital. I'm a nut who just likes having boxes on the shelf, I lend games out to friends and my brother, it just feels more like I "own" it, etc.

I'll probably keep buying physical until they take the option away completely.

Only downside IMO is swapping discs...a minor inconvenience compared to digital.

Physical unless there is no other option.

9 Physical

- Dragon Age
- Metro: Redux
- GTA V
- AC: U
- Destiny
- Driveclub
- NBA2K15
- COD: AW
- Bloodborne

3 Paid Digital

- Tales from the Borderlands
- Helldivers
- TLOU: R (came with my BF bundle)

On consoles and handhelds I always go physical if it's an option, but I'm not averse to going digital if it isn't.

On PC, I always go digital. No point in going physical on PC.

Physical on the WiiU.
Digital, minus the rare on sale physical, for the PS4.
Mix of both for the 3DS. Primarily based on size & replay.

Always physical unless I get a digital copy through some kind of deal or the game isn't available physically.

physical on wiiu
physical on 3ds
digital on vita
digital on ps4
digital on PC

anything older than current gen is physical, naturally.

Digital for most games, physical for games I want for my collection.

This covers everything I own (3DS, Vita, PS4, PC, WiiU)
