I'd seen variations on that idea, but never that particular one and it just cracked me up.

Also - Avril is hot. Pale skinny chick with a nice rack and a very pretty face... what more could you want?

As for her being as hot as hot as your average college girl - I get where you are coming from, but I don't entirely agree. You might find a girl with as nice a body, or as pretty a face - but the combo isn't exactly common among your average white girl.
 
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Just like pretentious music wankers that dis you for not liking some indy band or a movie buff who only likes arthouse flicks and thinks everyone who doesn't is below them.

I think shes pretty. Not Sensational but pretty. The gauge should be "would you hit it?"

She sings it better than Chris Martin. Have you heard him sing?? He's hopeless!

Coldplay is my favourite band since Zeppelin and I love their sound but he can't hold a tune to save his life.

You must be one of them. I like what I like and shock horror, sometimes a mainstream flick is good or a song that makes the top 40 is alright.

wha? chris martin has a superior falsetto to most singers in popular music that i know of. definitely not a hopeless singer. i sincerely hope you're being facetious or i'd really consider you hopeless at having an ear for talent.

He "sounds" better but I've seen him live a number of times and he struggles to keep his pitch. A lot. There's also a remix of Clocks out there where there is very little accompaniment and he sounds horrible. I'll try find it

I do love the rawness of his voice though. He puts across a lot of emotion too. Don't get me wrong I LOVE Coldplay/Chris Martin. I think he's a genius and a great singer. He just has pitch problems.

I refuse to believe someone who spend some much time on makeup and sing some many meaningless generic pop songs is a good singer.
 
Manufactured pop stars generally have at least some modicum of talent. The full on milli vanilli/ashlee simpson route is a rarity, as it has a high potential for backfiring.

Mostly its about intellectually and emotionally vacant music tuned to be acceptable to the widest range of tastes, and overproduced in the studio to eliminate any minor flaws, taking most of the character and individuality away as well. Not technically awful, just bland and uninspiring.

her last cd she had out with that dreadful "i could be your girlfriend" was just awful. her getting married must have made her too happy and careless lol.

i honestly have always had an intense fondness towards her song keep holding on. it's just so damn catchy.
 
Nose jobs, when done right like hers, are fine to me. I prefer that to a pair of fake breasts (unless said fake breasts are really well done, but they usually aren't).

agreed, i heard her do a cover of basket case by green day years ago and it was not that she didn't do a decent job, it just wasn't her at all and it was awful to me.

I'm of the mind that the Chop Suey cover isn't exactly "real" guys... probably shouldn't judge that as anything but a laugh.

My general thoughts on plastic surgery are that if it's done properly it's not a negative, but that it rarely really needs to be done.

I can't really tell if Avril's had a nose job or not, the change there is pretty subtle, but if she did have one it was complete unnecessary, as it is pretty much impossible to tell the difference.

Fake tits are really in the 'why was that necessary' category. I generally like them towards the smaller side anyway. Smaller and better shaped > giant perfectly spherical planetoids any day of the week.

What really pisses me off about plastic surgery is that it encourages too many beautiful women to let themselves get completely butchered so they can look 'better'. There are far more instances of 'why the hell did they chop themselves up like that' than there are 'she really looks better now'.
 
No surprise that she can actually sing. Some pop stars have some real talent, but the sort of things they sing really obscure that. I'm sure that if we gave her a GOOD song to sing, we'd all be surprised by Miley Cyrus, too... though I do admit to feeling really weird suggesting that.

In summary: good musicians sometimes just perform shitty music. Talent is still there, though.
 
Yeah, I just did a search on youtube and it was pretty bad for me too.

Is it just me or does all of Avrils photos look like someone's killed her cat? Even when she is kind of smiling.

That's always been the case, but for some reason people hear it and for some strange reason think she's trying to do an actual cover, when in fact, she's just fucking around.

Not sure if Avril did get a nose job, just someone else here said she did, but whatever, she looks great.

I don't really view plastic surgery negative, since once I save up the money, I plan to get some done myself. I just don't think people should really change themselves ENTIRELY. And there are also plenty of valid reason to get boob jobs btw, "bigger boobs" isn't always the reason for them.

Also, Avril looks too "blended in" with the blond hair. Like, she looks like every other blond chick in hollywood right now.

As someone who has actually been in high school, I would have hit the fuck out of this shit (and did to several similar girls).

Girls like this always turn out to be smoking, and snagging their V-card is always nice. I'm convinced it's some kind of afterlife currency.
