So will Demon's Souls ever come to PC?

I hope it's announced for the people that really want it. If not, y'all aren't missing much imo. I was surprised at how underwhelmed I was with it at release. It's the least talked about entry in the series (even behind DS2). Can't put my finger on it, but something was definitely lost from the original to the remake.

No one takes those estimates seriously.

Sony have confirmed it sold less than a million.
Right, because the PC sales cut off at exactly 971K on may of last year and never sold a single copy more since. You're just being disingenuous now and you know that perfectly well.

You can keep crying about piracy, meanwhile ports will keep coming

Sony ain't stupid. They know damn well Bloodborne and Demon Souls would get pirated to hell to stick it to Sony. Most PC gamers have this elitist attitude that buying a game on ps5 is beneath them, yet they still want some games ported so they can spend the money on steam, and avoid supporting Sony as much as possible. If you want to play Demon Souls or Bloodborne that much, then buy a ps5 because those games were made to sell systems.

They even seem entitled enough to believe they should be released Day 1 on PC.

PC gamers would love to be able to play all the modern FromSoft titles on PC for challenge runs and mods and the like, but Sony keeps gatekeeping Demon Souls and Bloodborne and are content with relasing games that we aren't interested in and they keep bombing.

....so why are they porting everything else, including much bigger IPs?

I seriously wonder if some of these takes are serious.

I'm sure Sony have their reasons for not having ported Bloodborne and Demon's Souls yet, but I'm also pretty damn sure that the existence of some shadowy cabal of Sony-hating PC gamers looking to sabotage the launches of these specific games (and, for some reason, none of Sony's other releases) through an organized act of mass piracy is not one of them.

Is this really that hard to figure out? None of their 1st party games have been released on PS5 and PC Day 1. They come to PC LONG after they have sold the bulk of their copies on PS5.

If Sony did that then they would likely lose a significant bunch of sales due to PC piracy. Releasing it on PC years later, allows them to collect additional revenue on the game. It's honestly a brilliant strategy and it hilariously enough, gets people like me who want to revist the game a chance to revisit it on a better platform.

It's pretty hilarious that this has to be explained to you when in your own post you say "I seriously wonder if some of these takes are serious."

Naw dude...the problem is you.

It doesnt have to be an organized act for a group of people to share a similar mindset. Its really not that deep. Tribalism in the pc community started long before the term console warriors was coined. Pc players act like they cant play a game if its not on Steam. Thats no different than a person who only plays games that are on gamepass, or people who only buy games on playstation. The difference is only PC players expect another platform they dont support to give them the best they have to offer when they want it, which is next level entitlement. If I was head of Sony, I wouldnt port those games either. Those games are reserved or people who support playstation hardware and the ecosystem. Its is still a business.

Probably not. Clearly PC gamers have no interest in Sony games according to Gaf, so that's ok, right?
We cannot say 'no interest,' but I believe that these games have received lower attention than expected, especially considering they were exclusive to PlayStation for years. While God of War sold 20 million copies on the PS4, it only sold 850,000 copies on PC, and The Last of Us remained in the 350,000 range. On the other hand, games like Horizon and Spider-Man sold around 2 million copies, attracting the most attention(those numbers are pretty good actually). You can also check concurrent player numbers in here.

Despite the availability of emulators(which is not the case for Ps 4/5 games), if Zelda BOTW or TOTK were announced for PC, it would create a bigger impact. I am surprised that Sony's games don't have the same effect on the PC platform. I am particularly saddened by the incredibly low interest that Returnal has received.

Even if they get pirated by some margin, so what? If they sell a buch then they will profit. It's not like those games are hot currently that Sony needs them to be exclusives, at this point they're not selling and a new platform bring potential additional sells. Apparently Sony's vision is similar, since we have PC versions of many "exclusives".

Yea I know alot of people wont like it but no DRM is a issue too. Its alot easier pirated than most other new games. The free DRM/no DRM didnt generate much sales for them. That's soo bizzare.

Souls fans are very loyal to Souls and if they were Souls fans, they would have either bought a PS5 to play this or already played the original version of it. This isn't 2012 when Souls was an obscure franchise that only grew big once it had more platforms to be visible on.

yeah, after Bloodborne

"I'm mad because Sony isn't porting these games, so I'll pirate them when they do." Isn't a mindset. You can probably count the PC gamers who think that way on one hand.
Ok, that's your opinion but facts are facts. Over 100 million users on Steam and less than 1% actually bought the game, but we're supposed to believe it's not being pirated after port begging through change.org during last generation?

Not wrong with wanting things... Why the hell should they buy a inferior piece of hardware if they have one perfectly capable of running the software in question?

I'm not saying that Sony should do it or not I'm just stating that wanting to have those games on PC it's basically a no brainer for PC gamers... The advantages are almost ENDLESS and it has 0 compromises.

+110 million ps4 sales and not even 900k people bought Gravity Rush 2.

My god! More than 99% of ps4s are hacked and playing pirated games!

What game are you even talk about? And how many signatures did that petition get?

Port begged by some really vocal minority. Most people on Steam don't give a shit. They play Call of Duty and EA Sports stuff.

I rarely see anyone "begging" for a PC port but almost in every game specific thread there's either begging for a pro console because game runs poorly or current gen patch for an older game.

Thing is that this is also just a very vocal minority. Bloodborne sold pretty good for its niche but not the numbers Sony are looking for these days. Some people make Bloodborne or Demon's Souls out to be this big-ass games. Elden Ring was the first one of these that sold mainstream numbers.

Don't get me wrong, I would absolutely love if they remastered/remade Bloodborne but I don't expect it.

You are basically implying that the remaining 99% pirated the game.
Only because you don't seem to want to face the alternative: that probably no one gave a fuck.

P.S. For what is worth I actually bought the game... And I regretted it less than a hour later.

Neither of those games are particularly popular on Steam, at least not compared to consoles. The most played games on Steam and on PC in general tend to be games that aren't available on consoles at all, like CSGO, DOTA or League of Legends. CSGO alone currently has 10 times as many players on Steam as CoD and FIFA combined.

fair enough, that's what I meant. That Steam users play the mainstream stuff and the people who scream the loudest for a Bloodborne or Demon's Souls port/remake are just a very vocal minority because these games were niche in comparison (except for maybe Elden Ring, which approached mainstream sales numbers).
