"25-point comeback in the playoffs? Pfft, try coming back from 32 down, Tommy boy."

I mean. That's the playoffs. This was the Super Bowl.

Brady isn't even done yet. Has more SB's berths in him too. He's the best ever and it's not close now. Titles and numbers in every category.

The Trump ties to Brady suck, but the reason why it is played up so much is that it is the only fault he has. Its the only thing that can be brought up to tarnish his legacy. Bringing in stats against Brady is a losing argument. His support is shitty, but I think 99% of rich people are about as shitty and given how much support Trump has with other NFL executives, singling out Brady and not going after the rest is kinds of weak. NFL is filled with shit people.

People need to calm down. Brady being a Trump supporter is not going to tarnish his legacy. Jesus christ. lol

Rest is good, but this is all irrelevant with how the game has changed.
I agree stats in today's game are overinflated when compared. Records are broken as time goes and offense increases. But still, use stats, Brady wins, use team wins, Brady, Championships, Brady. In everything, Brady either ties or beats anyone else. It's not a debate anymore, use any number, and the answer is always Brady. Only number Montana beats Brady is in the number of Hall of Famers they played with. No way Brady has more HoFs when all is said and done, which actually means Brady is then even better (makes it a blowout really).

If the fucker just actually talked about it and didn't dodge the damn question, it would be over

But noooo, Teflon Tom gotta deflect to something different. Just admit it and move on so I can hate yo ass more!

Just like to bump this since apparently LeBron james, Kobe Bryant, Chris Evans, Drake, etc. Are all Trump supporters for being Brady supporters.

On this: I get it - a lot of people latched onto Brady's quiet support of Trump and wanted this game to be some sort of proxy defeat of Trump, and are now re-feeling the election sting. But it's just dumb.

If Brady was some outspoken bigot that would be one thing. But that we keep posting pictures of a hat in his locker like it's some sort of trump card (ha! see what I did there?) are really not making much of a point. He has political views and he took the side that I happen to really dislike, but...so what?

Brady is a football player. He's a good one. Probably the best QB ever. It's unfortunate that so many got invested in seeing Trump - I mean, Brady - lose this sporting event. But the whole Brady/Trump thing is silly.

And I fuckin' hate Trump.

Without the defense shutting down the Falcons, the comeback doesn't happen.

Without the receivers making great catches, the comeback doesn't happen.

The fascination to give one person all the credit or fault in these team sports is just mind boggling.

The Falcons shut down the Falcons. Ryan should have grounded but took a sack and then the O-Line made the field goal even more impossible with a holding call.

But Brady marched them down the field twice and converted two 2 pt conversions so he gets the well deserved credit

I would disclaimers on his first two Superbowls as the Patriots didn't earn those wins fairly, due to Belichek and ataff taping all plays for opposing teams secretly. The other 3 Super Bowls, they deserve it for sure. I would rate him Top 4 QB's for sure, but not greater than Montana, Bradshaw, and Elway

I don't think you need to be an outspoken bigot. You just need to not bother to go to the White House in 2015 after you won the Super Bowl because it was Obama who invited you. What are the odds Brady turns up when Trump invites him?

You mean the thing that many teams in league were doing, as other coaches later came out and admitted?

Stahp.

Are you making a claim or have a point?

I said Brady is the goat, I also said fuck him for supporting Trump.

Where's the problem?

You accused another poster of being a Trump supporter because they back Brady. I've been seeing it all over tonight and it's complete, unadulterated horseshit.

Talk about grasping at straws.

He still has that hat in his locker after these past few weeks? I don't see any reason why we shouldn't want a shitty person to fail. Being a good football player doesn't cancel that out.

It's extremely difficult to make a case for anyone else in my opinion. What he's done in his career is nothing short of miraculous and he's not even done yet.

You mean a goat defense? He was awful. The idea that Peyton had crap teams is a total farce, he had solid defenses. Early in his career he was horrendous in the playoffs... He single handedly lost the saints SB with the late pick 6 while driving, and also got destroyed and gave away the Seahawks SB. Mental toughness is a huge part of the champion package. Joe Montana it's not just about the rings it's about how good he was when his team needed him. Peyton was mostly the opposite his whole career. He's also another guy who put it on his team more than himself when they lost.

Manning's prime with the Colts was from the 99 season through 2010. Based on points and yardage allowed, Only 4 years out of those 12 seasons were his defenses above average (02, 05, 07, 08). And only in 05 and 07 were they really good. Let's also not forget that he never had an offensive line that could run block and he never had anything other than possession receivers. So 2/3rds of his prime he had an average to below average defense and his whole prime the offense had no running game to help him out. I'm still standing firm in my statement that his teams weren't that good and yet they consistently won.

I completely agree that he had some bad playoff games. But so have most of the other greats in the discussion.

Lol no.

I accused the poster for getting in his feelings and calling people "shit" for being "haters" on Brady BECAUSE he's a Trump supporter. Read better, post better.

The amount of haters in this thread (even latching onto politics desperately to help) is incredible.

GOAT things.

Tom Brady is the undisputed GOAT after tonight. No arguments to be made.

Let the hate flow through you.

That picture is like a year and a half old. And Brady has come out recently and said his friendship with Trump doesn't reflect his opinions on politics.

Eli and the legend slayer Giants stopped the perfect season and from Brady getting 7 damn championships , more than the 6 that the Steelers got in like 40 years

Bow down to Eli

Tom just needs protection and he can play 2-4 more years
If Gronk actually stays healthy 👀

too late. show me other athletes wearing that hat and we'll chat about those athletes.

at least my cheating coach smiles all the time.

I swear gaf is becoming more and more unhinged. I'm no patriots fan after they embarrassed my Texans, but the SB as some sort of proxy fight over the election and trump.. lol? Whats the next proxy battleground, the NPD threads on the gaming board? Nintendo/switch = Trump and Sony = democrats? Ya'll need to get a grip.

It's not just GAF. And Nintendo is Trump, they won the game for the Patriots tonight with that Switch commercial.

Tom Brady looked like the sledgehammer thrower in Apple's iconic 1984 ad. I never thought I would see that level of determination and innovation again.

Tonight cemented Tom's legacy as the greatest football player of all time, now it is just a question of whether or not he is the most dominant athlete to ever play a ball sport.

Everybody who supported Trump is going to be tarnished in the eyes of future generations, it's not exclusive to Brady.

My point is that his football legacy will not be tarnished. When people debate who the greatest QBs of all time are 10/20/30 years from now, him being a Trump supporter will not be used as a counter argument. It's absurd. It'll be a thing for a little bit for some people on the internet but no one is going to care in the long term.

I guess I just don't see Brady as a shitty person. I'll cheerfully admit that I don't follow sports closely - this was the second NE game I saw this year, and I only saw half of it. But every time I see people calling Brady shitty it's on evidence like a hat in his locker. I just can't get myself to be worked up about that. He's a damn fine quarterback though.

that commercial made it look really tiny.
They know their target audience.

But it might be like how when you bring up Charles Lindbergh the follow up is always "...but you knew that guy was a huge Nazi yeah?"
