So you know that scene in Final Destination with the receding water?

Because it is the first death, I think the writers wanted to make it obvious to the audience that it was supernatural in cause rather than an accident. Assuming someone was watching blind with zero knowledge of the film they were watching.

The twist ending in the last one was B-movie genius. I still get a huge grin just thinking about it.

Spoilers for those who want to be spoiled:
The entire film is a prequel to the very first Final Destination, and ends with the main cast getting on the plane that explodes in the first film. It ends with the characters dying brutally in the accident. The film even drops subtle hints with late-90's stuff everywhere, including old phones, cars, CRT monitors etc.

I need to go back and rewatch. I've seen it twice but didn't catch the subtleties.

Well these aren't exactly the pinnacle of movies with deep plots, it's just an excuse to kill a bunch of people in creative ways lol

But I think it was done to show that the deaths aren't accidental and that there was something supernatural going on

I never liked this scene, because they made water seem like oil. It would never be that slippery. But for whatever reason I'm ok with all the other deaths despite how ridiculous they all are.

I'm not sure about the water on the floor but there was spilled soap or shampoo or something in the bathtub for sure. It was why he couldn't stand up so that he couldn't be strangled by the wire.

It's death at work.

Death sets in motion a chain of events that lead to the person's demise. It can manipulate the world at will, but only in a limited way, to set up elaborate Rube Goldberg machines of murder that are hilarious to watch.

Favorite early 00's horror series. They lost their way around the race track one with waaaay too many characters so it just bounced from death to death and no time for story. The most recent one was a great return to form though and hope they make another one.

I guess I just see it as unnecessary because the plane accident and psychic dream lets people know it was supernatural.

I don't remember which one it was, second one I think, but that scene where the kid goes to the dentist and they keep making you think it's going to be a death involving one of his tools but then it ends up he dies when he leaves and gets crushed by a pane of glass. Like wow. Aside from the opening traffic accident where police officer Jimmy Olson from Lois and Clark gets killed by a log flying through his cruiser. Really, wow. Sometimes I think they're too gruesome and I just don't want to watch anymore. I don't think I've seen a FD movie since the roller coaster scene in 3 I think it was.

Final Destination 2 is an underappreciated masterpiece. I love that movie to death.

The second movie is one of my favorite horror films. Saw it in theaters opening weekend with a friend of mine who was a huge fan of the first (I thought it was alright-ish) and maaaan.

It's a Looney Tunes horror flick.

Director went on to do Snakes on a Plane, I believe.

It shows the audience that death is it full control of everything and all the "accidents" are 100% orchestrated.
But why would Death want people to think he committed suicide? (Aside from plot progression) It would be better just to keep the water there.

It's been forever since I saw the movie though and I remember that the "suicide" was a big part of it. So basically Death is just an asshole who wanted his friends to be sadder than they needed to be. Did the other characters being sad that it was apparent suicide have anything to do with any of their deaths? If so then that's the reason. Death set them up to die how it wanted them to. Otherwise it's just Death being a jerk.

I should watch all of these.

That was brilliant really. Me and my ex (who was a huge fan of the movies) were left speechless when
the fight on the plane started

Also, I honestly think that THE Final Destination is the worst movie in the series. Way too over the top for its own good.

In Jurassic world
they solved the problem of the dinosaur that escaped from captivity by releasing other dinosaurs from captivity. Then, for no reason at all, those dinosaurs left the humans alone, which also by the way decided to stay and watch the fight instead of run

Ahhh. The most under appreciated horror movie franchise ever. The second got me into the genre big time, to the point where I started writing a fan script for a third. The only truly shit one was the fourth. So bad.

I need a sixth, dammit.

I remember that DVD. I think that particular choice just gave us an extra scene of those delicious naked girls :P I remember the director saying he wanted twins but couldn't find any that would do the nudity.

That and saving the pervy dude were the only choices that I remember noticeably changing the movie.

I really only liked the first one of the series when it was new and concept was kind of cool, the sequels establish it more as more gorefest with crazier and crazier deaths I became disinterested.

Why is the barbecue like 100 feet away from everyone, anyway? Did they suspect it was going to explode at some point?
Death put it there because he didn't want to have to do extra paperwork for all the extra collateral damage it would have caused.

He's already busting his ass enough as it is cleaning up after the mess that kid caused, he just wants to go home to see his family. Why make more work for himself? If he can move water along a tile bathroom floor, moving a grill is a piece of cake.

Just a few weeks ago, I was passing a truck that was carrying metal boxes and one box broke away and hit my windshield. I was scared shitless but I escaped with a small Crack and some scratches on the car.

Oh man. Death is now after you. Watch for the signs.
