Sodas long gone(?) but not forgotten

Vault, baby.

It was the summer of 07. It was hot. I guzzled this shit by the can and tried to sleep but heat kept me awake. It was like...9 in the morning and I had a cooler on and it did nothing. I lay in bed with the sun cracking through the blinds on my face.

I remember this because the AWFUL aftertaste of this FILTH is etched into my brain. Such horror. Fuck Vault.

This was my go to back in High School. I know the bottle is empty, but the soda itself was clear, too. I was wary at first, but the flavor is unrivaled to this day.

Orbitz

For whatever reason i remember walking 30 minutes to the store with some friends when this first came out. I was pretty young so it was a big deal to be going that far from home.

This thread just reminds me of how much I hate opening up a flat soda when I was so looking forward to a nice crisp fizzy beverage.

It's ruined the enjoyment of some of my favorites. Come to think of it, I can't remember the last time I had a not-flat soda out of a plastic bottle other than coke. Cans always have the best track record.

Being somewhat drunk at halftime of this game, decided to investigate further. Looks like that wiki page was only edited to add that today (shenanigans!) and the son of the father/son team is now a stuntman/animal trainer for films and his cousin was killed by the bear from Semi-Pro? Also, wtf:

Solid halftime.

Haha going by that video it seems like running a business in the 80s made no sense at all. What a weird company. I still hope it comes back though.

I need to stop coming into these "Awesome junk foods that no longer exist" threads. It makes me sad when stuff like this is gone forever.

We had this drink in Louisiana called Pop Rouge and it had a flavor like strawberry and cream soda and my family used to make homemade ice cream with it. It was amazing stuff. a local company called Swamp Pop even brought it back as Pontchatoula Pop Rouge flavor.

For me it has to be
latest

I know its still regional but it hasn't been in Alabama(my area at least) for a few years now.
Was actually up there with Surge as my favorite soda.
There's a Wawa (gas station with awesome hoagies) by my uni that has it, and seems to be the only place around that does. I always try to grab a bottle when I fill up.

Now this shit here was great. I didn't care that it looked irradiated, it was superior to the regular game fuel flavor. I was so disappointed when it didn't come back the last two years.

not a vanished soda, but a tip for UK expats:

Canada Dry's Cranberry Ginger Ale actually tastes precisely like (Barr's) Red Kola.

Most delicious discovery I ever made.

The GOAT, Red Bull Cola. No, it's not Red Bull mixed with cola, it's just artisan cola, made by the Red Bull company, with all natural ingredients.

The flavour profile was beyond anything that Coca-Cola or Pepsi can come up with, it was truly sublime. Like tasting champagne after having nothing but cheap sparkling white wine all your life.

Yeah this was actually good! They really should've made the can look less like a regular can of redbull because I think people expected an energy drink taste.

Original Coke sweetened with cane sugar will always be the best Cola to me but I did enjoy the Redbull Cola as well.

I guess Vanilla Coke and Surge aren't gone anymore, but they're hard to find and unless it's staring me in the face I have too much self-control to order pallets of it through the internet.

Really? I don't know about Surge, but I see Vanilla Coke all over the place in DFW.

I miss the "7up yours!" commercials. Used to crack me the fuck up.

My favorite that is no longer made is the Black Cherry Vanilla Coke and the Berries N cream Dr Pepper.
