Some first Destiny 2 info about characters moving forward etc

As a player who started on xbox 360, does not plan on buying an xbox one, and plays mainly on PS4, this makes me happy. I'm looking forward to a fresh start and really hope that Bungie learned from their past mistakes with Destiny.

In game grimiore viewing (if they keep grimiore) is just one small thing that would make the experience better.

NOOOO!

I hate the design of my Destiny 1 Titan. I want a new one.

So they're gonna resell us the same dances for more money in D2? Figures when Bungies idea of a content update is old content with a twist...

Sounds great. My character comes (AND HIS GRIMOIRE???) but my weapons don't. That's cool.

Hotline Bling is going to cost me $5 USD again. SMH

So if this hits PC, what does that mean since I played it on PS4?

Do the Bungie site link it to grant the veteran bonus?

How your character looks (hair, tattoos, race, etc) will be the only thing that carries over to Destiny 2, if you finish the main campaign in Destiny 1.

Plus you will be given a veteran bonus.

This is all if you stay with your PS4. I dont believe it gets carried over to PC.

I'd like to not keep my character's ugly face and hair, but it was the best of my available choices.

If they don't add more face and hair options in Destiny 2 I'm gonna be really bummed out.

I know, I don't care so much for the cosmetic look on my Guardians but it would really suck that actually going with PC for the new one, should it be released, and not receive anything for 100s of hours due to the game simply not being available there in the first place, you know.

Man...I really hope they pull this one off. As much crap as destiny (deservedly) gets, when that game was fun that game was DAMN fun.

I sincerely don't care about character appearance carrying over.

It's one of the worst parts of the game, and every single character looks like shit.

calculating honor
...
...
all triumphs completed, literally all exotics achieved, all armor sets gathered...calculating honor reward for destiny 2

you get 1000 glimmer bonus and a gold shader!

I'm fine with it, but I'm bummed. Me and my Hunter had some grand ole times.

Your Hunter can come over with you to Destiny 2.

Just not his/her weapons or armor. Or scrap that altogether and just create a new Hunter. Its a fresh start for everyone.

I still think the best 'solution'... would have been to delay Destiny for like two years. Y'know, make it into something like the game that was promised. Destiny is like MGSV to me. A clearly unfinished or deeply compromised game with a very strong set of core mechanics and not much else. Destiny 2 will have to be a real something for me to touch this franchise again, but boy I hope that it is.

I'm cool with this. I love my Awoken Hunter.

Now please just allow me to bring my precious Fatebringer up to current light for one more go around the track.

Emotes and eververse stuff like that not coming over is just lazy, they trying to tell me animations can't be recreated in Destiny 2? give over. And for the only thing that does carry over to be the basic and crappy character creation faces is just down right lame. Still in day 1 because i am stupid.

Keeping the Personalization doesn't mean much if it's not the same character. If the story will assume you're a new guardian... why would you use the same design?

I'm ok with this. I love the look of my Hunter and Titan, so definitely looking forward to keep them progressing into Destiny 2.

Delay the game and suddenly its not Bungie anymore but Activision Bungie.

Found out a while ago that chasing gear is more fun than owning it.

Actually glad nothing carries over.

Let the new hunt for new loot begin.

Now that is something I'm pissed off about. I spent real money on Eververse a couple times and it makes no sense for emotes to not carry over. Super ridiculous.

Yeah, that's true. I'm sure they eventually bring back old favorites anywhere. It'll be fun to hunt for those again if they do it right and make them look better and have improved or new abilities/perks.

yeah no

This seems like a great way to do things, IMO. I'm guessing they'll be able to pull from your bungie.net profile to carry over D1 stuff into D2. Being able to play on multiple consoles (and PC!) with the same character would be a dream come true for Destiny 2.

Looking forward to jumping back in for the closing celebration.

Just out of interest, was this Bungie's first official confirmation (not just commenting on development etc.) that there's a Destiny 2? Cause that's a real lacklustre way to do it.
Bungie's not responsible for announcing the game.

So you'd get what, some special thanks for playing the first game cosmetic appearance/customization? Or just like a badge/achievement somewhere? Besides the character appearance carryover.

Never played the original, but I'm interested to see what the sequel does, especially if it lands on PC.
