Someone Has Found All 900 Korok Seeds In Zelda

LmFao @ anyone thinking there are too many. Try playing the game and exploring the world to get an idea of the function of these items. Exchange the words "Korok seeds" with "environmental puzzles" because that's literally what they are. There's a bit of repetition, but they're mostly clever little rewards for exploration and puzzle solving. Not anywhere even close to being anything like achievements or a waste of time.

That's the biggest understatement I've heard all year. They aren't particularly clever and they get grouped together in bunches pretty often so the number is definitely bloated.

Seeing the reward you get for collecting all seeds, thats basically as good as any trophies/achievement. Its not like games are being built around trophies/achievements anyway.

Just today I was wondering if there really were 900 seeds in the game, because after 100+ hours I have only found 190 (though there are still many regions I haven´t explored properly). The reward is ultimate trolling lol.

I suggest you take your own advice and explore the world before you declare that the Korok puzzles aren't repetitive. Lmfao lol xD

After reading this, the seeds themselves are poop. Read the description and it says something very similar about a weird smell and it looks like little poops. They literally created a game where you collect 900 poops to get rewarded with a giant one at the end.

You can even find wheat and rice by cutting grass, I believe.
indeed :)

Wow shit I didn't know this. I usually don't swing my weapon around randomly in BotW. I'm going to start trying this out! 100 Restless Crickets, here I come!

Yeah, you have to be really fast, though. As soon as the cricket appears it'll be alerted and it's gonna start trying to escape. So it's literally "whirlwind, sprint, grab"

I farmed the restless crickets (or whatever that one dude who was in love with the receptionist) wanted me to grab, by slashing grass.

How many are needed to max out inventory?

i believe somewhere around 450-460.

But that's because the final weapon slot costs 45 seeds.
It's not really worth it. It's just one more slot for that "i'll hold on to this special use case" weapon. You'll still have to drop that generic sword or whatever when you wanna pick up an iron hammer.
Those extra slots solve nothing if you're a weapon hoarder :)

I cant even find the treasures in Uncharted, and I do try to search every room.. last one I played I had less than 20 from a total of 60 by the end of the game lol

Why the fuck would you put the number in the thread title, can't even safely browse the GAF main page these days.

Shame. :/

You would never find out this number in-game unless you somehow unintentionally found 900 korok seeds. I imagine you wouldn't have the patience to unintentionally meander a wilderness to look for up to 900 or something until it just stops appearing.

There are fucking 900 well hidden mini puzzles and minigames?!?!

Holy shit, doibg sone of them while playing and knowibg how they are hidden they really want overboard with this.

no here it's not an item you can put everywhere and just pick up with no real reward (outside trophy hunting, but u4 has cheat like the others ?)
It's not deep but at least there is interactivity(and discover how) and ingame reward.
thoses 2 small differences can do a lot to boost potential interest of many.

lol Wow what a twist.

This reminds me of Wind Waker for Gamecube.

After committing myself to do the fucking photo statue collectable hunt. You have to take pictures of things and you only have a limited number of pictures you can hold. So it involves A LOT of sailing to X, taking pictures, sailing back to get the figurinies. Sailing, sailing, sailing, sailing sailing sailing.

You get the idea.

So the fucking reward for doing all that????

A mini figure of Link on the boat, sailing. The very thing I had been looking at the entire game doing this quest hahahah.

I guess this is Nintendo saying what they think of achievements and trophies. Or it's their way of commenting on the pointlessness of collecting useless crap in games.

And it also confirms that the seeds are Korok poop (the icon even looks like a small version of the big turd you get after collecting all 900). So basically every time you find a Korok it's like "Yahaha! You found me!" *throws its shit at you* "Bu-bye!".

I think its the latter, if it have to be one of those choices. Its not like collecting things like this is a new concept, and achievements/trophies havnt changed the design in games, those things are just added as a layer over the game. Collecting all 900 seeds is also tied to the 100% completion stat in the game. Its most likely just something to add to the gameplay, another thing that you can do, to extend the longevity of the game.

Literally giving you a piece of shit as a reward for so much time and effort being put into their game is the most wonderfully passively aggressive act I've seen in years.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, no one has as much open contempt for Nintendo fans as Nintendo themselves!

It's some fun little ribbing at completionists just like the 100% achievements in binding of Isaac. I think it's pretty funny.

I currently have 395 seeds without using a guide but I doubt I'll get all 900. I'll most likely get enough to max out my inventory and then be done with the game.

Korok Seeds are important in BotW because along with ores, they form the foundation of the replacement of "cutting grass" in Zelda. Starting from LttP, there has been a tradition where Zelda fans would cut every blade of grass and pick up every stone sometimes just hopeful for a heart or rupees. BotW does away with this tradition, but it helps to still reward players who go out of their way to explore the world in a curious way. It makes the world feel reactive. If you notice a little leaf windmill somewhere while passing by, or see a strange wind formation, or notice an imprint on a tree stump, or notice an odd rock formation, it makes it worth your while to stop and play around with the environment a little. The rewards you get then add up, and have a real benefit when you trade them in. Overall it's a plus to the game experience to have these things littered all over the world. It's not something you are supposed to actively seek out obsessively, which is why there isn't a tracker to encourage you to do so, unlike the shrines.
You are talking into the wind.

I took forever to realize how to get rupees. I would see the shiny stone but would be focused on my objective that i overlooked it for 10 hours. Once i got them, my PTSD of salesman fuckery kicked in.

It started with LOZ 1, where walking into the wrong bombed out place caused you to lose money spoiler/. It continued with OoT, where you can just wait and you'll get the same shield (or something) for free. So Zelda has given you randomness in the past. I was worried that a different merchant would buy your ore at a different price. That may be largely gone but now the prices for some items are sky high.

I'm glad they have turned their habits on their head. Even using a map online with the korok seeds, some have puzzles that make you want to skip and do something else. I spent three hours hunting these things and then the guy takes off. He justs decides to move and I'm not ready to unlock the whole map.

This is an amazing game.

Edit
Holy crap, maybe I'm supposed to bring a rock to the formations that are not complete. Heard explodes but now i want to play.

Too bad there isn't a quick cast/potion to stop all rain and lightning.

Pure gold! :D Oh Nintendo, haha!

Given that these things aren't even supposed to be completed I think this is a fitting "outcome". What reward could possibly come close to the work that went into finding and collecting all fucking 900? That's right, nothing. May as well be a golden piece of shit, then.

To the very few people in here who are - hilariously - upset that they don't get a great reward, what exactly would you want? Some op armour or weapon? I don't see how that makes a difference at all, surely the fun of being a collector is that you enjoy collecting? Do you honestly care about getting some skin or weapon at a point in the game where you have most likely done everything already.

I fought the final boss today and thought I'd searched the game pretty thoroughly. I found...six of them.
Listening to podcasts I had the feeling some people were not very good at finding these things.

I think I have around 100 now and I've been to 1 temple and have only really explored the east side of the map.

Pro tip for you all out there.
any geography that seems a little strange you should investigate. A stump with a leaf stamped into it, stand on that, rocks arranged a peculiar way, go mess with that until it makes sense, a sparkle cruising around, go interact with that. Many mountain peaks will have a small rock on top that you can just pick up to get a lorikeets seed. Water sometimes have Lilly pads you can dive into. Sometimes there are rectangular structures that mirror each other. If you move one block in place to make them identical you get a seed. Water sometimes has rocks that you can throw another rock into like a basket ball. These are at least the really common puzzles I remember.

Come on. Do we really need thread titles with spoilers for a new game?

Yes, this is a spoiler. The "900" number does not need to be present in the title and I did not need to know there were that many.

Yeah... no.

Oh, and if you go out of your way to actively look for all 900 Korok seeds, you either enjoy those puzzles a lot or you only have yourself to blame. The game makes it perfectly clear they are not meant to be completed. That's the reason why there are 900 to begin with. So that you'll stumble over enough of them casually, without having to wander around and actively search for them. Not to mention the fact that after you have found every Korok seed in the game, there is just nothing left to do for you anyway. So what are they supposed to reward you with? An awesome weapon you'll never use? Or something different awesome that everyone would like to have? Forcing their fans to go out of their way to get it, not respecting their time? Thanks for your input, though.

Exactly, I'm sort of glad there isn't something awesome behind them all, because as it is now you already get rewarded for collecting them and they are already a rewarding collectible inheritly because both exploring to find the puzzle and actually solving the puzzle are fun and exciting. If I knew I was missing out for getting them all, that may tempt me to spoil things by following a guide or go insane taking all day to find the darn things.

As of now they are a leisurely and fun collectible that makes me want to investigate the world.
