Both (awesome songs btw) sampled from Eternal Champions:

Do you guys know other songs where this happened?

There is a Britney Spears song that I still swear sampled a sound from a Pac-Man game, or something along those lines. I just can't ever place just what exactly it is though. It is in Slave To You...

That sound in the "chorus", it's from a game of some sort. I remember it from years ago, but I can't place what it is exactly.

Not really sampling as much as completely using, but...

So good.

Hell yeah, all of the Team Teamwork stuff is great.

I like a lot of his/their(?) versions better than the regular songs. Probably because I heard a lot of their versions first, bit still. Awesome.

I just recently went and downloaded Vinyl Fantasy 7. I hadn't before because I never played FF7 and wouldn't know the music. I don't know the music, but still, that's a dope album, just like the other 2.

Shame he/they said no more video game stuff. :(

What about Super-Nintendo-Sega-Genesis? It has my favorite Team Teamwork mix ever on it.

Cadence Weapon - "Grim Fandango" (despite the name, samples the Silent Hill theme)

The Smashing Pumpkins famously sampled the "explosion from DOOM" sound effect in "Where Boys Fear to Tread" off of Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness.

Dude...you just listed every single one I was going to.

These are some grade-A examples of how you sample video game music as a hip hop artist, in my opinion.

Percee P - 2 Brothers From The Gutter: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zf6tA0pTtdw
Contra (NES) - Title Screen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0y2Tvi2RnmI

Oh No - The Ride: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_C5NcyPYsR0 (I could only find the instrumental on youtube)
Castlevania III - Title Screen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mmx3gnQH8tY

Cage - Follow The Bleeder: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qw2GbQSEq_8
Mega Man 2 - Dr. Wily's Stage 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HFKtYCcMWT4

BMS - Mucho Stereo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ihNqoBMhe_s (This is a favorite of mine. Produced by El-P)
Mortal Kombat (Genesis) - Entrance: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ck2ggeiq5w&feature=related

Cocoa Brovaz - super brooklyn: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MxSXaLfBnYQ
Super Mario Bros. - Underground: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c0SuIMUoShI

I might post some more later.

Russians are all over this stuff. Dza and Pixelord (they both have other aliases, including chiptune ones) are indie-famous there. They do instrumental hip-hop with their main names.

Professor Sakamoto is 1 of a ton of Japanese people doing it.

http://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B0049WANVQ/ He even does a Mother cover there.

The guy from 65daysofstatic (whom I don't like) put out a pretty good synthpop album this year with a little bit of European console sampling. This video is so phenomenal. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1-KG7bhqUrg

"Jam" by Michael Jackson has a part that is identical to the Carnival theme in Sonic 3. Complete with glass smash.

Though this could be because Michael is rumored to of helped with the soundtrack.

What's stopping SE from suing some of these guys? There was that case with Namco vs... IDK Soulja boy over Pacman?

Wow. That's why it always sounded so familiar!

This is a real example of great VGM sampling unlike that Never Been trash. The latter is not only a simplistic hackjob, but also a bunch of shitty lyrics spouted by one of the wackest rappers in the game over one of the most beautiful pieces in the CT soundtrack.
