Aren't these characters for the TV show? It would make more sense to me if so... but if they're going to be part of the game then they're going to be relegated to NPCs. So, how is this necessarily a bad thing, exactly? It's filling the world they live in. Would you prefer they lived with humans again ala Sonic Adventure?

well good thing it's a completely different continuity/universe in it's own and that Sonic technically has two seperate universes already (game and comic)

Wouldn't it be nice if the game were.. I dunno.. 2D and looked like the drawings of the characters? Also, what if these characters populated a single town where they sold reserve power up items or gave out quests like "defeat this many enemies in level 1.1."

I dunno.. I think there's some cool things that could be done with Sonic... but we're not seeing those things being done. :-/

Ok, I was trying to stay optimistic about this game but not anymore tbh. Those character designs look like a generic 2012 Cartoon Network show animated in flash... My only hope now is that the game at least can be fun. Poor Sonic doesn't desserve this.

Filling the world they live in with these kinds of characters helps the setting and everything. It's not a bad thing at all if they aren't playable (which they probably aren't) or if they are just for the TV show.

Pretty much.

They're not even really giving them much of a fanfare. It's just a bunch of concept art, implying they're just there to fill the sidelines like most cartoon shows out there.

Even Sonic needs some cast building if you're going the route they're going and all of this looks mostly inconsequential.
