I bumped an old thread initially because we just had a placeholder packshot, but now that it's been formally announced, we're supposed to put E3 announcements in new threads. So...

To kick off E3 in style, we’re announcing our first Kinect game for Xbox 360 — Sonic Free Riders.

Sonic Free Riders brings full body motion controlled fast-paced boarding action, developed to take full advantage of Kinect for the Xbox 360. You’ll be twisting and turning your way through a range of visually stunning courses in an action-packed Sonic experience unlike any other! Kinect’s unique motion sensor means Sonic Free Riders will see family and friends controlling their fully customizable hover board or bike by twisting, turning, and jumping in an exhilarating race to be first to cross the finish line.

Choosing from one of your favorite Sonic characters or your own avatar, you can reach out and grab a variety of pickups along the course. By throwing, shaking, or swinging your arms to launch your items, you can gain the competitive edge over your rivals in high octane single or multiplayer races.

Third installment in a terrible franchise that's a spinoff of a terrible franchise, launch title for new peripheral. Colour me skeptical.

Sonic is NOT a terrible franchise, well at least not the old school Genesis games.

Odd, I can't even find my own thread via Google. Anyway,

A detailed demo and explanation

Besides the holding the bomb in your hand and throwing it manually, one touch I did like is that as he rode by flowerboxes you can't really travel over, he reached out his hand and snagged rings floating over them. But the way he's talking, and the way the game looks, this is really early, and it's either not going to make Natal launch like they said, or it's not going to get the polish it needs.

I could see this game turning out to be a pretty fun party game ifthey can get the motions right, wont WOW anyone graphically though. With some of the Wiigames going multi im surprised there hasn't been more eye toy stuff going Kinect, like that Sega All Stars game where you can fly as Nights or fight VF characters.

I actually like the first two games in the series, but I have no desire to control the game with my body, nor does it seem fun.

I don't understand why they keep making these(sonic riders games) how well do they sell? I played the first one on PS2, was good at it but I hated it.

Remember, guys: this is what they killed United Game Artists for. They killed UGA and buried Space Channel 5 with them, and gave us Sonic Riders in return. >:|

I apologise in advance for this terrible pun, but...

It looks like we've got a big free rider problem on our hands.
