At the very least both of the Adventure games had NiGHTS references (the pinball table in the casino stage of the first, posters and a building and stuff in the background of the second). This is just extending that in to actual gameplay as bonus content.

Wouldn't be surprised if it was similar to Sonic & ASR Transformed, where it was a code included with all launch/pre-order copies. In any case, this pretty much secures day 1 buy for me.

I know the following comment will probably be highly hyperbolic but for the first time in a while I feel like I see a actual video game when seeing Sonic: Lost World and it feels like a video-game, something... about it just hits my 16bit itches
