I got excited when I saw the screenshots. :D

Because this pretty much confirms Samba de Amigo for Wii (both were leaked first through retailer computers).
Once Sambe De Amigo is confirmed for Wii I'm never coming out from under my rock.

These images are slightly cleaner, but still not good.
Also, if any game DID NOT DESERVE a sequel, it was Sonic Riders.

They've just given up.

There has not even been an attempt by sega to match Mario like back in the days.

Unless Sega believes this rivals SMG, which really isn't inconceivable as these people at Sega obviously have a fucked up view of reality.

This games modelers have no fucking concept of proportion

...Uh... right... and the correct proportions of cartoon mascots designed like Christmas tree bulbs with pipe cleaners sticking straight out for limbs are...?

As for the big hands/whatever, it's stylization. (Yeah, with PS2 level geometry it looks like ass here, there's no question. Hopefully, hopefully, the Wii version retains the Gamecube's geometry at least.) The original had a lot of springy/stretchy cartoony animation going on. They were also just trying a different look with the series.

...Seriously, are you for real? It's a budget spin-off. Mario has done somewhere around a hundred similar titles, easily. Does Mario Tennis rival Super Mario Galaxy? Does Mario appearing in SSX Tricky or whatever it was rival Super Mario Galaxy? Does even Mario Kart: Double Dash?

No (at least not by looks, which is all we're judging here). Those aren't even platformers anyway. So why in the hell would a PS2/Wii semi-sequel of a racing game be even designed to compete? It's a lazy project for money. It's not labeled Sonic the Hedgehog 4 or Sonic Heroes 2 or Sonic Adventure whatever. Not every little Sonic spinoff or cash grab is the next absolute continuation of the series from there on out. This is pretty much the equivalent of Sonic Drift 2. Why flip out so badly over it?

Sonic and his shitty friends should be glad they're still allowed to participate in the Mario Olympics.

People saying it looks like fzero gx are correct, but only if it was downgraded and given crappy art. BTW I swear this picture I took with a camera looks better than the crap screens of this game so far.

Dear God. There is no justice.
How come such clusterfuck of a game can receive a sequel? It's pure injustice to all those sequels we never had on some many great games in the past.

Yet people are still buying Sonic games in droves. If you got paid millions to make crappy macaroni necklaces, wouldn't you keep making them?

Screenshot = bad. This is exactly why I never look at screenshots anymore. If there's no preview video, I'm not looking.

But I am actually glad that there's a sequel. Like the many other Sonic games Sonic Riders was about speed and perfection
although I didn't have the patience to unlock Super Sonic
but was still flawed. There's a second chance to redeem themselves and claim that lost potential.

But I'm tired of missions. After going through both Sonic Riders and Sonic Wii, I'm tired.

The problem is, when I think about it, the only thing that adds replay value after just racing/running around in every Sonic game is missions. The only Sonic game that ever had a ton of different levels (more than just 8 with altered "zones"), something I'd always wanted, was Shadow the Hedgehog, and we all know how that turned out.

Edit: Thank you Kafel.

Now seeing why they named the game this way, I'm actually starting to get excited. Zero Gravity is what hoverboarding is all about; you should always be able to jump on walls and ceilings. And those damn birds are finally using their wings.

Since I'm extremely desperate for some arcade racers I'll pick this up if it has online play, looks better than these screens, and is budget priced (or used for $20).

wtf? The original wasn't THAT bad. It was mediocre, but it wasn't unplayable. And it sold well. So yeah, sequel time.

Hopefully it plays better.

So basically, you're never buying it?

Hmm I've heard they dropped the air system so maybe this wont be so bad. The video looks alright.

Ok its bad but I hope they've learnt lessons from the first game

...ok they didn't learn we DIDN'T want a sequel but you know what I mean

Trailer looks good. Seems to me that its using the same engine as Sonic and the Secret Rings and that was a great looking wii game.

To be honest, I don't care too much, that's why I wrote three lines. But the problem I have is, quality-wise, you can't even tell what's the next adventure game or what's a spin off.

Mario Tennis is better than every game Sonic starred in since the Dreamcast.

Sorry, but your logic sucks.

Mario Tennis is one of the best arcade sports games ever, especially the GC one.

Sonic Riders is a mediocre racer and it wasn't a "budget" spin-off. It was $50.

The difference is that Mario does these types of titles and they're usually great.

*cries on Sonic's behalf*

....BioWare...please make the AAA Sonic game that the series needs...please make the AAA Sonic game that the series needs...please make the AAA Sonic game that the series needs...please make the AAA Sonic game that the series needs...please make the AAA Sonic game that the series needs...please make the AAA Sonic game that the series needs...please make the AAA Sonic game that the series needs...

Someone should take Sonic behind the barn and put a .45 slug in the back of his head, but then Sega would just do Sonic Rising: Extreme Zombie Hunting.

Don't blame SEGA...BLAME YOURSELVES!

I asked you guys to sign the "Official "make F4F the head honcho of Sonic Team" Petition", and we only had two signatures!

I mean...you guys keep whining about Sonic but you ain't doing nothin about it!

I'm half joking but half serious at the same time heheh.

*shakes head*

They still dont get it. Where are the Genesis classic Sonic games? what the fuck are they doing? They have completely raped the Sonic franchise double penetration style.

Sonic Adventure was the last great Sonic Game (even in 3d). Everything after that is a pile of hong kong dog shit.

But hopefully one day they will get it. Genesis rocked my childhood and seeing this extraordinary piss is making my heart bleed. Bastards!

Sonic fangames will get it right. BELIEVE.

What is bothering me is that the game is being released on both the Wii and the PS2. We all know that the PS2 can't handle Wii graphics. I wonder how they are going to port it to the PS2

Sonic XG and Retro Sonic are the best of the best, and now they're getting ready to do a fusion dance and combine forces...

If there's Sonic that's probably going to be worth looking into, it will probably be "Retro Sonic XG".

wait, Sonic Riders was a success?

It became a Greatest Hits on the PS2 and I think a Player's Choice on the GameCube. A million copies sounds realistic.
