Sonic Rush DS homepage updated w/ new pics

I'm really looking forward to this game, but I'll agree with Luckett on some of his points. At the moment, all we've seen in terms of enemies is Egg-Pawns from Sonic Heroes, and they just bloody sucked. There were, like, 5 enemies total in Sonic Heroes, with no level specific enemies. The Sonic Advance enemies were okay, but they felt more like the Game Gear enemies than the Megadrive enemies [ie; Too small], and were used more as an obstacle to avoid rather than hit and take down

The level art's looking nice, but there seem to be a lot of gradients used in the brown areas. Shouldn't we be at a point now days where we can use decent, softened art for this sort of thing? The city level looks great though.

My main problem with the enemies from Sonic Heroes is that you had to hit them 3 times or more to kill a lot of them. Really, the challenge in Sonic games is more about avoiding obstacles, not to see if you can guide your homing attack at an enemy and rapidly bounce off his head until he dies. It just slows everything down. Hopefully the enemies in 'Rush' will be 1-hit KOs so the action remains fast-paced.

Also, they didn't want to drive the Sonic franchise completely into the ground, as at that time (late '94), Sonic had appeared in 6 games in less than 2 years' time: Sonic 3, Sonic CD, Sonic Chaos, Sonic & Knuckles, Sonic Triple Trouble, and Sonic Spinball.

Well they're doing a good job of playing catch up!

Anyway, I don't get the complaints about Rush's enemies; Sonic's rbot foes have ALWAYS been lame. They fall into two catagories: with or without a drill-bit.
