Probably that sweet new smartwatch announced.
Z3 available on SoftBank in Japan. First time for Sony. Bodes well for Sprint to be announced on the 9th along with T-Mobile and VZW.
so that leaves AT&T out of the major US carriers? I noticed they launched Z3 on all carriers in Canada, which is also a first.
Can't wait for the conference today.
Any livestreams?

Just say the word sony and you have my money
Not sure about that. There are liveblogs at least.
If that word was "Z3CompactOnVerizon" they'd have mine too!
Who's going to be covering it? Thus far I've only found an Androidcentral live blog, but it's not working on my computer![]()
Man, this remote play stuff is cool as hell, but there is no freaking way it works.... right? I mean.....right? I know it works on the Vita, but on a phone?

That abomination of a logo in the top part of the phone.[/QUOTE]
Verizon gonna Verizon.
Too bad there was no mention of the Compact, but I didn't expect any. Now the real question is about that remote play functaionality. Almost everyone talking about has has said "on the same Wi-Fi network" as opposed to the Vita where we've got BruceLeeRoy playing Destiny from his office across town. Is the wording deliberate? Probably.

http://www.androidcentral.com/sonys-xperia-z3-coming-us-and-weve-reviewed-itToday in New York City, Sony officially announced its flagship smartphone, the Xperia Z3, for the U.S. market exclusively on Verizon under the Z3v name. The Z3v marks Sony's latest effort to break into the U.S. in a meaningful way, with availability from Verizon starting October 23rd.

So... didn't T-Mobile say they were getting this phone? What the hell is going on here?

It's the Z3v. That little V is the only thing making it "exclusive". T-Moblie will probably get it's own letter or just the original phone.
Thanks guys! I did wonder if that little "v" was significant enough to separate the Verizon phone from the others but I really didn't entertain the idea because that seems really silly. I guess it is enough though. That's tricky wording, but basically it sounds like the "Z3v" name is exclusive to Verizon, only (obviously). For this kind of attention, Verizon must've paid quite a bit more than T-Mobile did. but agreed, this is quite odd. AT&T announcement next, please! I don't wanna switch to Verizon...
doubt it. i've still got my SERO plan and got a Note 4 on deck just waiting for that shipping confirmation to hit my inbox.I'm really holding on to the hope that there will be a Sprint version of this thing. I don't want to give up my 25% discount to switch to T-Mobile. $73 a month, with tax, is too good to give up.
Then again Sprint could end up making me use their new plans and somehow invalidating my discount. They did end up getting rid of my current plan.
Pretty sure Apple doesn't even use the OIS in video.
