I just find it interesting that Sony is in damage control mode and the last time that happened there was also a boomerang controller as if they predicted this would all happen again. Ps3 did fine so will the Ps5.
Well not literally thank god. Ps5 is so close to the new xbox if they were both animals they could breed. But they are coming in this gen with a bad rap. Hopefully the price isn't also reminiscent of the Ps3!People hated the boomerang controller so much that they brought back the DualShock without any rumble due to a legal dispute. Then later on they released the DualShock again but with rumble.
Not to mention the PS3 was a pain to develop for due to Cell and the Split ram configuration.
I honestly don't see the PS5 as a repeat of the PS3 because its not repeating those mistakes.

I think I'm gonna be sick

Being silent is a form of damage control. You can't believe the specs reveal was anything but a disaster.Lol, damage control? Sony has barely said anything about the PS5. This isn't like the XBO reveal when MS was scrambling to justify their DRM and TV focus. Sony is slowly revealing info about the PS5 and still sucking up most of the attention when it comes to next gen news.
Just look at the likes and retweets for this controller. Sony has 2.1x the consoles out there and only around 1.3x more followers on Twitter, yet the DS5 has 6.6x the amount of likes and 13.6x the amount of retweets that the XSX controller has. Hell, it has more than the actual XSX console reveal does, too.

Only if you're an Xbot was it a total disaster. May not have been your cup of tea, but nearly 75% of the people who watched it liked it, going by the like/dislike ratio. And in the end, it won't affect anything, as people have already forgotten about it and are looking forward to the actual console reveal. As this controller reveal has shown.
But, if dreaming of Sony sweating behind the scenes makes you feel better, go right ahead and believe it.
They chose the ugly 2-tone to force you to buy a single colored one. I wonder if the box is going for a similar aesthetic.
Weird memes, bros.Being silent is a form of damage control. You can't believe the specs reveal was anything but a disaster.
Doubt it. The reveal-launch-first few years of the PS3 was a mess. Cocky executives, high price, hard to develop for, really badly run 3rd party games, heck, even a controller without rumble, poor online etc etcMaybe it's a terrifying omen that this will be the PS3 all over again.
Where the hell did that come from? 4chan?God help me, I love the petty ones tossed together in Paint.

This would be the absolute worst skin for any controller LOL!
What makes you think that?I just find it interesting that Sony is in damage control mode
This made me imagine an alternate reality in which all game consoles are lille kid's toys, and that is the new PS5 controller, the most advanced one to date, but still shit. That would be a horrible place to live
Ignore that user spreading lies .

"The company confirmed on the PlayStation Blog that the PS5's DualSense will, in fact, use rechargeable batteries just as prior DualShock controllers did."
What features had the Xbox one controller and were added to DualSens?so it added some features the xb1 controller has had for a entire generation already, kept the lightbar, added a mic that is entirely pointless, and managed to make it uglier....
You mean the share button that the DS4 had an entire generation already?so it added some features the xb1 controller has had for a entire generation already, kept the lightbar, added a mic that is entirely pointless, and managed to make it uglier....
According to you, the newest Xbox Elite Controller must be a massive downgrade then.even worse. adding AA's would have been a step in the right direction. I hope they at least considerably improved battery life,m because my ps4 controller has essentially been a wired controller for this entire gen

True dat but that was in spite of the price and hardware.
How about the Saturn that killed a gaming juggernaut? (I love the Saturn BTW)Maybe it's a terrifying omen that this will be the PS3 all over again.
I need to them to have at least the same battery capacity with switch pro controller, because DS4 has some real shitty battery.

You forgot to add this.
Tell me, why DS4 is not ergonomic? I'd like to hear that story.Ergonomic shape?
Switch pro controller last around 40h while wii pro is double than that, all using internal battery.Where does this AA-battery fetish come from?
How this is somehow better:
Have at least 4 rechargeable AA batteries on hand. (to switch them if they end in the middle of session)
Or using batteries = if gaming lets say 1000h / year, and pair of batteries last only 10h (assuming playstation controller would use more energy) = 100x battery change = around 0.5€ for one AA, 200x 0.5€ means 100€ / year. or 800€ / gen
"The average lifespan of AA batteries in an Xbox controller is roughly 40 hours. The average lifespan of the most common rechargeable battery pack, the Xbox Play and Charge Kit, is only 30 hours. The Play and Charge kit's battery life decreases over time too. "
So lets use 40h = 1000/40 = 25 x 2 x 0.5€ = 25€ into batteries/ year. 8 years of gaming = 200€ into batteries with 1000h/ year gaming.
Or good charger + 4x AA rechargeable = maybe 40€ initial purchase and maybe have to replace them once in gen = add 10-20€ = total of 50-60€ / gen.
Or when having 2x controllers = 8x AA rechargeable + 20-40€ if replacing them once/gen. = 50-60€ initial investment + 20-40€ to replace 8x rechargeable = 70-100€/gen
vs.
Charge controller from usb = free
Charge controller from official cradle = 20-25€ / gen
with 2 controllers, no need to stop gaming to charge (if playing alone) because one is always full on the cradle = 20-25€
DS4 battery lasts around 7-10h (in my experience, with light on dim), that is plenty enough when using cradle + 2 controllers, just place the controller on the cradle every time = always 1-2 fully charged controllers ready.
Or when battery/AA is emptied while gaming:
Find full AA batteries or recharged ones (I know I dont have them hanging always around, when you have cable = no need to buy more later, like AA)
vs
just stick usb cable into the controller / take one from cradle and continue.
I have 4 x DS4, two are from 2013 november, still working perfectly, battery lasts hours (havent counted but probably 4-7h, long enough not to be drained in long sessions), and these 2 have maybe 4000-7000h of game play on them at least.
Then 1 that came with ps4 pro + one orange that I bought because it looks cool + cradle = always full controller even if I forget to charge one or two as I just rotate them now into the cradle and take fully charged to the table
Many of my friends have just 1-2 controllers + cradle and I don't remember that anybody have said that it sucks or is inconvenience.
Just weird to worship AA, imagine a cellphone with AA batteries, doesnt make any more sense than gaming controller.
To burrito bandito:
There is clearly something wrong with your controller(s) or you are exaggerating, if you have to used it on wired all the time. Please explain why hours of game play would mean that you have to keep it on cable all the time?
Like even if it lasts only 4-5h, then there should not be a reason to keep it on cable all the time. And charging lithium batteries 24/7 fucks them up anyway
I agree that it could last longer, like switch/wiiu pro controller does, but IMO it is not really a big deal at all when using cradle/cable.
My conclusion is:
That if internal battery lasts for 20-80h = nobody complains, so AA isnt in any way superior vs internal battery, it is just about the amount of hours between charges
PS5 controller have usb C so it is possible that they have much better battery life and faster charge
Like Sony wh1000xm3 headphones, their battery last 25-30h with max ANC + best quality, and with usb-c 10minutes of charging gives 5 hours of usage.
So if (speculating) PS5 controller lasts 10-30h + charges really fast = zero reason to use AA
Tell me, why DS4 is not ergonomic? I'd like to hear that story.
