That's one nifty interface.

However => * Main screen: 65,536 color TFT, says wait for rev. 2

Too bad really, it looked like it'd have everything I'd like from a phone. Well, except Win mobile, but the interface (or, rather, what I can see of it so far) makes up for it.

Had me until I saw Windows Mobile.

The thing is damn gorgeous and I love the features, but yeah. :(

I guess Opera Mobile is getting to the point of being pretty damn good though, so I dunno...

God, why have the camera?

Blackberry's don't carry camera's any more. Its irritating having "business" phones that you can't use because security doesn't allow cameras.

Because Sony is marketing this as a media-rich phone, not a business tool.

For the windows mobile haters..
MS has made some seriously good strides with their latest versions. So don´t hate before you try.. (at least, this is what I have heard from friends working with it)

The home screen looks unlike any WM6 phone I have ever seen and the transitions in the video look cool, these three things make me think it definately has an SE interface. At worst it has an app that bypasses the stock WM6 crap and at best you will never see the standard WM6 interface, so I would hang fire on the criticisms for now. Also WM does not allow screens of more than 65k colours, hence the oddly imbalanced screen specs.

Why do the screens on these things always have to be completely unprotected when you're not using them? I want to keep my phone in a pocket, idiots.

The fact that it's WVGA resolution gives it a lot of potential as a PMP in my opinion, provided the microSD slot supports microSDHC as well.

Actually, wait, what? This is a Sony phone and it's NOT using Memory Sticks??? When did we get to Bizarro World?

Apparently Windows Mobile 7 and 8 are going to be total, ground-up rebuilds.

But I agree. It's currently about elegant as Windows 3.1

How large are microSDHC cards now? People on Engadget are saying 32 GB, but I only see up to 8 GB on newegg.com.

This phone looks amazing.

I think it's regular SDHC that's up to 32GB. The micro ones are as you say still at lower capacities.

really? what do you know about android? last i read devs were having problems with it.
I've played with the SDK and it could use some work but the look, feel, and build of the OS is very solid. Most of the devs are bitching because of the lack of native C support, i think google is doing something about that, maybe let specific phones allow C.

Until the app crashes and you have to get into the registry to fix whatever nonsense is going on.

It's great that they have a custom UI running, but underneath that UI is the worst phone OS on the market(except for maybe Palm, but that's due to age).

To be perfectly honest, I've never had an app crash on my WM6 phone. I use the stock rom though. Don't go downloading the cooked roms.

wtf at all the wynnmo hate :lol most of you are probably using the crappy cingular/verizon interfaces. once you go smartphone you cannot go back.
