Why does everybody want Shadow of the Colossus in HD? Sure it'd be nice, but talk about a waste of time and resources when Team ICO could be making something new.
Start of with someone in a castle, basically - a la ICO... rooms with moving parts , engine-esque things, moving pistons, every so often... you hear voices telling you what to do, you have no recollection as to how you got there, but you know you are from some small quaint village, and your family must be worried about your disappearance. have the user head towards an exit at the top of the castle as the final goal...
when you get there, you realise that you`ve just come out of the mouth of a SUPER Colossus - the rooms your have unwittingly traversed are the internal 'organs' of the giant
Through out you are told to do various seemingly innocuous things, when looked back on , you realise that this has been to aid in the running , repair and activation of the collossus, to protect it against attacks or whatever...
as you look out, you see the giant is lumbering towards your village, where it smashes down it`s power and destroys your hometown providing the bittersweet twist that by escaping the "castle" you have brought about the destruction of everything you held dear
second play through should open up the ability to sabotage the collossus, this would be done in a way as to make navigation to the "exit" much more difficult, but allows the story to be played twice adding much needed replayability
... okay, i didn`t really think too hard about this, so i know this isn`t exactly the best rounded idea in the world!
DC admit it, you've spoilered that because you've been secretly sending these "scripts" to Ueda ever since you first played SOTC in the hope they'd hire you.
C'mon, you can say it, we've all done it here... erhm...
now if you'll excuse me, I got a restraining order court case to attend...

Always trying to skip places in the line, you'll have to wait a while: I have about 30+ pages of testimony to do to explain the judge why I am not a stalker of Kutaragi, but simply a valuable "free-lance" assistant (the free part of free-lance in my interpretation of the term implies that a contract signed by him and thus explicit consent is not necessarily needed).
I hope it's Ico 2 and not Sotc part deux. Only I want it to be longer, bigger (actually it was pretty big in some areas) and I would like more of the pretty colours that the the beggining scene had. Though having said all of that they referred to sotc as a sequel and it's only mildly related to ico so it could just be an entirely different game in the universe.

The only really bad thing about this idea is, now that that you've revealed the whole thing, there can never be a game that does this. The big secret will never be a big secret anymore.
If this was actually a game (or even worse, a Team ICO game), I would have murder on my mind right now, and you'd have the honorable part of being the victim.
Other than that, the idea was so simple, yet so genius.
Anyway, why would anyone want a sequel to any of the games, really? I mean, after ICO, we all were hoping for a sequel to that. When SotC came out, we were all hoping for a sequel to that. What, when the next game is out (which will most likely not be a sequel to any of the games, but an entirely new game with similarities and references, like SotC was to ICO), will we (if it's good) be asking for a sequel to that instead?

I mean I don't think i'd be really interested in playing all the way through to realise it was a colossus the whole while. Also what would a colossus on such a scale be doing loose and anywhere near civilization those guys would have sealed it and you in the process. Wasn't the mega colossus the whole piece of the puzzle that got scattered to power down the deamon would just be the same thing again I think.
Hmmm, I'm not sure what I want from this. The narrative is already so vague that you could set the game before, during or after either ICO or SotC. I just want to see what kind of mechanics the game uses. A retread isn't exactly what I want, but neither do I want them to just abandon what has gone before.
Ueda is not the kind of guy who will simply remake a game in HD. I suspect neither.
He spoke of how his games are always designed thematically and then the world is built inside that.
ICO was about being trapped, Colossus was about being
manipulated.
There will always be constants in the world, for instance the blood line of ICO, and things for fans of previous games to notice but I don't think he'll reuse themes.
It will be something new, like love, hatred, war.. perhaps choice? Then placing that in the ICO universe.
It's anybodies guess but I don't think they'll use the new technology to simply justify re-realising concepts on old ground.
Tell me when they put out something that plays well and doesn't triple the games length by having me run through barren wastelands/annoying forests. For some reason I never saw the appeal of an escort game and the climb up this patch of moss sim.

I doubt it'll be a direct sequel to Ico or SotC. If they meant sequel as in the third game from Team ico then yes, but I highly doubt it'll be a direct sequel to their past games.

I think you're getting patch of moss confused with hulking great monsters the size of buildings, tall buildings. It's an easy mistake to make. No wait, it isn't.
We were hearing rumours of ICO sequels for years before SotC appeared, so this may only be half the story. It could be as much of a sequel as SotC was to ICO - a sequel 'in spirit'.
IMO, it would be nice to see Team ICO continue with new IPs. It's the team name that sells the games rather than the franchises themselves. Kind of like Quentin Tarrantino, but somewhat more chilled
I thought there was talk of two Team ICO projects, one small (PSN/PSP?) and another big (almost certainly 'the sequel', right?). Of course it could have just been Shane who said that. In which case, Team ICO game in'08.
