well, for europeans, TiVO for PS3, PSP with wireless IM, navigation, tv shows, etc, buzz, singstar, exclusive FIFA for 2008 WC is simply going to be huge in europe, plus PES7 designed for PS3.

what else should be there for europe? for europeans, this is better than KZ2.

Good stuff, the Shockey one is also legendary. But I'd love to see someone make a gif about the crazy Kentucky Wildcat fans when they rushed the field thinking they won against LSU only to learn that LSU nailed a 75 yard hail mary to win the game at the end of regulation.
 
Probably not going to happen, but hopefully a whole new set of games will be announced at TGS. I'm sick of reading about the current stable of games...
 
I blame NeoGAF for expecting something out of G|C for yet another year only to be let down. We need to stop having ANY faith in this convention

I can't wait for the Mainstream press to write about How Great the Nintendo conference was... and That Sony had the worst showing because of the lack of new things

To sum it up (taken from op), what came from this press conference:

• PlayTV Revealed (Turn your PS3 into a TiVo)
• BUZZ PS3 Revealed (Network focused, a ton of pre-included questions, you can create your own & share online (game 3.0))
• PSP Go! (TV Shows, messaging, video chat, GPS Map locator..etc)
• Heavenly Sword releases Sept 14th in UK, 19th in rest of Europe
• FIFA, EA and PlayStation kick off FIFA Interactive World Cup 2008 (press site), only on PS3 (tm)
• GT5 Prologue (1080p @ 60fps) will have 50 cars, 5 tracks (reversible as well), game supports 16 players online, Home integration..etc orgy on PSN this fall confirmed
• *Bow* NEW KILLZONE 2 PICS *HERE*
• PSP "Slim & Lite" will launch in EU on Sept 5th, two special ones as well (Simpson & Spiderman editions)

Because europeans like actual games too, you know.
 
Will BUZZ PS3 be a Blu Ray release and subsequent service like Sing Star? Or will it be sold over PSN initially and then come to Blu Ray over time?

It sounded like disc then subsequent DLC. He said "everything is on the disc".

I'd say retail only solely because of the buzzers. I don't think it will be the same playing with a SixAxis pad.
 
Dude, where's my dual shock 3 ?

Seriously, this event is covered by most European media, it's not wise to introduce a new controller barely 6 months after the launch of the first one, and the console itself.
We'll probably hear about it at the TGS.
 
i think David Reeves is like the worst sony executive EVER.

ken kuturagi is god compared to him! kk was at least funny/entertaining and had talent. What does David Reeves have?!
 
i came in expecting everyone to be blaming Nintendo for Sony largely focussing on non games and mainstream products...

and i'm weirdly happy to see that i was wrong.

so, when are the fireworks?

A few useless accessories for the PSP and PS3 which I don't need?

I have a mobile for mobile messenger. I have a TomTom for SatNav. I already have a 200gb Freeview PVR.

At least Buzz PS3 looks wicked.
 
As a gamer interested just in new games of couse this conference was no exciting but they had a lot of new things announced.
GoExplore, PlayTV and the Sky pay per view service are really cool things and they will generate a lot of interest in the press.
We had launch details for PSP slim and we know that EA and Sony are still good friends and starting from FIFA08 their games won't suck
just on PS3
