Sony has a sick and twisted way of handling promotional codes

Does anyone know if the LBP codes for Kratos and Nariko are PSN shareable? I have a friend who got Kratos and another who got Nariko. They are probably going to come by sometime this week to see if it works to share so they can have both.

Mine was a peel-off. A thin plastic layer is applied over some substance with wavy lines black-and-grey lines on the back sticky surface. When you peel it off the lettering appears in black on a third grey layer underneath. The lettering is sort of melted into the sticky material coating the card, not exactly printed in a normal sense. It's very delicate- mine nearly didn't stick properly when peeling off the plastic top layer, which would have ruined the code. It's also susceptible to smearing.

To those saying "scratch it"... I don't know how you would proceed to "scratch" a material that's essentially the same as a plastic candy wrapper. It's smooth and transparent. It did not resemble the typical grey "lottery ticket" material, and I do not recall seeing any instructions to "scratch" the code anywhere on the card.
Common sense says to scratch it, or if you do not KNOW what to do, ASK.

The DLC is shareable like anything on psn. The code however is not.

I scratched. My code works fine.
I didn't scratch and mine works fine. :shrug Do you scratch until you break straight through the surface of the sticker or does it appear underneath the surface of the sticker?

Exactly. When you use common sense and prior knowledge, usually things go fine!
How many times must we say we've never encountered anything like this before? This isn't like the lottery scratch-offs. It has a smooth, constant surface and a little edge all the way around that could be picked up with a fingernail and pulled up off the surface. It appeared to be a code covered with a sticker- which, I might add, I HAVE used before.

Its not a scratchy. Its a damn sticker.

My friend thought he was supposed to scratch his and he ruined it. I'm not sure how you got it to work.

Its a scratch off. You just scratch the same way you would any other item that had that grey strip. Its a THICKER than normal strip, but you still remove with a penny or nickel or something. Just gently scratch it off.

I really hope there are two versions of these cards, or I have lost even more hope in humanity.

Like others have said, mine was a scratch off, on top of some plastic, on top of the card.

I don't know. I tried scratching at first, and it didn't work. Then I was looking at the plastic to figure out whether it was as a sticker, but I couldn't get it off.

So I tried scratching again, only harder, but firmer and gentle. :lol

It just scratched away. The plastic sticker still remains; you don't have to break through it with the coin or whatever you're using. I still got the bits of gray dust like a normal scratch away though

It scratched away very normally, with the exception that I had to apply slightly more presure than usual. I am certain that it was meant for scratching rather than peeling.

Nariko had no scratch or sticker at all. It was just printed on the card, but with the preorder it came in a sealed plastic game case.

Kratos actually had 2 versions of the card itself; I don't know about the scratch part, but one card is blue and the other is orange. No differences in what you got with the codes though

Ok, I know I scratched my card so I dug it out of the trash to check it out.

It's a STICKER that you scratch.

It's a STICKER that you scratch.

It's a STICKER that you scratch.

I know it seems wacky, but it's a STICKER that you scratch.

You just dont scratch like a madman(or woman). Firm but not fast.

Futureshop in Canada had Nariko, and mines was the scratch one.

Maybe I peeled it because I had been to McDonald's earlier in the day and got some of their "Monopoly" game pieces which are a plastic/waxy paper material with printing underneath which you peel off. I guess I expected this to be the same since it was a sticker, and the news about people damaging their codes.

Looks to me like the scratch material was placed on top of the sticker on yours. Unlike many of ours where the sticker is covering the scratch material.

Exactly what I was thinking.

where's the scratch material in your photo in the OP? I thought there were wavy gray lines on some? Is that on the sticker? Did you try to scratch the sticker after you peeled it off?

The wavy lines are the scratch material, if that came off with the sticker, then you probably messed up by peeling it in the first place.

Huh. Well that is strange then. Maybe thats why they started handing out different vouchers after these old ones were circulated?

The wavy lines are UNDERNEATH the sticker. Not on top. Underneath. As in, impossible to touch the material without removing the sticker in some manner.

The only situation I will except from you crazy people is if the manufacturing line screwed up and started placing the stickers upside-down.

that sounds exactly like what some people are describing...

so after removing the sticker, you had to scratch off the wavy lines? This doesn't make sense.

I sure hope so Baker. I scratched mine off with no problems as well.

No. The wavy lines were stuck to the back (LET ME EMPHASIZE AGAIN, FOR AT LEAST THE THIRD TIME, THE BACK) of the sticker. I assume now that's the part you are supposed to scratch, except they assembled the thing wrong. When I pulled off my sticker the glue on the bottom pulled off the wavy-line material underneath (EMPHASIZING IT AGAIN- NOT ON TOP, UNDERNEATH) as well, revealing the code below.

sorry this is frustrating you... understandable, but did you ever try scratching? I ask because I too thought it did not feel like a normal scratch off thing.

All this "getting to things underneath things" talk is bringing back some sexy high school era flashbacks. :lol

No, it's already pulled up so there's no way to see how it would work. If I had another one available I'd try scratching it.

EDIT: Actually I did scratch a little with a fingernail before pulling it up. Nothing happened.

and what's your problem? The people in here that claim their's had scratch material underneath and not on top all said they didn't try scratching (as far as I've noticed), and everyone who did scratch said it was different from normal scratch material.

Seeing this after reading the topic...:lol

I'm going to have to agree that there are two sets out there because it wouldn't make sense for this many people to have the problem.

Mine is exactly like the card that was scanned in. I've got the gray background with a code printed on it, then a clear sticker, then the wavy lines. I scratch off the wavy lines and can see my code on the other side of the sticker. I can see why they did it because it would help prevent you from scratching your code away, sadly with the error that it looks like they had, it backfired.

yeah, it's crazy how some people are acting like several people who clearly know what the difference between plastic and silver paint are total fucking idiots.

it's pretty clear to anyone with common sense and the ability to read english that there are people with cards where the plastic is on top.

it's not rocket surgery.

and then there's you, who apparently hasn't seen either version?

and then there's you, who apparently hasn't seen either version and yet you have the common sense to reason that both in fact do exist.

how did you become such a reasonable person?

wheni grow up i want to be just like you.
