Sony has no sense of direction

They are chasing money. Aka chasing gaas trash. These games will all fail and they will get back to their senses in the ps6 gen

Also. They seem to have lost the eye for QUALITY. That PS Studio logo used to mean top tier, elite.

Right now.. it's Been watered down to mean anything.

Quality like what? great visuals?

great visuals doesnt guarantee a good game.

Astro bot looks fine and i know its going to play amazing here.

What are you even talking about? "Decade old games being ported to a computer"?

Dude, their strategy is clear as day: in 2020, they recruited Firesprite to start developing an Until Dawn sequel for them (Project Heartbreak) since the original sold 5M copies on PS4 alone and because Quantic Dream was drifting away from their web of partners and, in the time since, they've given Ballistic Moon the task of remaking the original Until Dawn for PC and PS5, not only to support the in development sequel but also the upcoming movie adaptation that PlayStation Productions is creating, with top talent from the horror films scene.

I can't believe how people can be this ignorant and have such mindless takes about an industry they follow on a pretty much daily basis. Each time an event - any event - happens or we get financial reports, the level of the discussion and analysis around those topics is simply pathetic.

Astrobot is trash? Concord you have no idea about it.

These criticisms were literally the same for Helldivers 2 a year ago.

At least wait until the games come out before trashing them.

Okay GAF. What do we want Sony to do? You've got people who have been wanting them to do more multiplayer games. People who want them to do single player games that don't feel like movies. Then you have people who want them to keep doing those big cinematic games. Are they supposed to ONLY do those games? Is it okay if they do others? If they do only those games are we gonna complain that they're a one-trick pony? If they try to diversify do we complain they have no direction? I just need to know what my narrative is supposed to be, because I'm getting really confused and I gotta be honest... it's turning me on. And you won't like me when I'm turned on. (You will)

Helldivers is the exception. Concord looks DOA, even if the GaaS was generously priced.
In what way is it DOA? More gamers will probably Concord than HD2 just because of the genre. It could be good or bad, but the gameplay on UE5 looks super smooth from the trailer

People just hate the type of game it is. Its like COD. Every year people bitch and moan how much they hate it and every year people are still playing it on a daily basis

Helldivers 2 proves you wrong

Your idea of taste is a 5 hour cutscene

This is why these companies don't do a lot of showcases anymore lol. There's no pleasing you people.
It was a dog shit showing. I would question anyone who walked away from it impressed, or fuck, even overall happy.

Only two games shown were worth a damn and one of them was already announced.

I have never felt compelled to pay money for a microtransaction in Helldivers. When I do, I'll consider the goalposts moved.
You realize you're the minority, right? They wouldn't be doing this if there was no money in it.

They showed 13 games. If 4 different groups of people came away with 4 different games they're excited about, that's a win. A diversified portfolio is why that company is still making money.

helldivers 2 is the exception not the rule

If you think concord looks good and not like some generic hero shooter crap then more power to you

I don't need to play it to know it's dead on arrival, generic gaas trash.

I'll take 3 Hellblades over that crap I saw today

This is a state of play that is highlighted by having decade old games being ported to a computer. Smdh
Ragnorak is 1.5 years old. What else is being ported?

The conference sucked but so does this OP. The highlights were astrobot and monster hunter wilds. Lowlights were concord and well everything else. But your post makes no sense.

F like the state of play. No sense of direction.

Concord will actually do quite well at launch.

Now as far as if the game is decent, who knows

It may not be for me. I'm skeptical, that said, I won't outright dismiss it even if it's not for me. It could be wildly popular

I don't see anything to suggest the way it plays is bad. The gameplay mechanics look solid.

I'm usually more positive and less jaded compare to most people and I honestly agree with you.

Other than MH Wild and Astro Bot, the show was lot of nothing.

Same here

The only thing that got my attention in this show today was Astro but nothing else will ever make it on my PS5 especially that GAAS shit they showed

Several other shooters I would rather play than Concord but I am sure some will enjoy it

All hero shooters look generic, don't care if it's this, Overwatch, Team Fortress or Apex.

But someone is buying them otherwise they wouldn't be made.

Aren't you a big CoD fan? You shouldn't be the one shitting on GaaS

I don't think the problem is no direction. I think the problem is too many directions. 12 Gaas projects. VR. PC ports. They spread themselves too thin. I don't know anything, but I suspect this is why Sony has nothing they can show right now. Their resources have been scattered all over the place. Again, that's my guess.

Yesterday, however, the business presentation showed a more defined roles for the studios and that was reassuring. I'm thinking that whatever Gaas or MP games the studios designated as single player were working on have been cancelled just like Factions. That's a good thing.

I don't have a problem with any of those types of games. Buying Firewalk to make Concord? Sure...hope it works out. Buying Bungie to teach their existing studios how to do Gaas? Fuck that. So yeah.....hopeful Sony has realized that was never going to work and have made adjustments. Just sucks that we could have had some kickass games other than Astro Bot (still stoked for that one though) had PlayStation's management not gone seemingly "all in" on this Gaas shit and been more conservative in their approach.

That GAAS they showed today looks horrible and yeah I play a lot of COD

I think Concord will die a very swift death IF it ever launches

People said the same of Helldivers 2

I think Overwatch and Fortnite look like trash but I'd rather play concord than either of them

Not saying it will be successful, I don't know, but I'm not going to just dismiss it entirely

It's easy to see why they can't show anything, sucker punch, Bluepoint, naughty dog, insomniac and Housemarque don't have projects quite ready to show yet and Sony isn't talking about 2025

Well, at least we can say one thing for sure. Even if the games don't appeal to you, Concord definitely doesn't for me, we can now lay to rest the argument that Sony's first party isn't releasing any games this year. I mean, technically that was never true thanks to MLB, but, you know.

The entertainment one can get from this forum is so, so good..

Are you sitting naked in front of your PC with popcorn and grape soda, too?

Two hero shooters wasn't the move that's for sure. I can't see that sitting well with the average PS audience, no way those will last. Sony is really out of touch imo but all they see right now is the $$ like fortnite is making and if they can make the next successful live service, to be fair that's what everyone is trying though.

You thought Hellblade 2 was a good game. I'm pretty sure your opinion doesn't matter at this point.

Apex is a great game, I assume the other two are too. If this game was more like Apex it would be an instant buy for me.

Makes absolute no sense to shit on this genre then, but admit you love COD. Cause COD is the daddies of GaaS. You play it cause it's gameplay is mechanically tight? No? despite being the same shit every year. Basically buying a new hero area shooter every year, different name, same shit.

I assume Sony has given these teams extra time cause it will need to combat Microsoft's incoming plans with Bethesda and Activision.

Oh look, it's another one of those one sentence random opinion threads that make so much sense outside of the OP's bubble. Without context your thread is ass, and it makes it feel like you are trying to stir shit. Prove me wrong by actually adding context…you probably won't though.
