Playstation Battle Royale... are examples of bad clones.
Hey now... let's give it a fair shot. Yes, it looks terrible, but it could end up being fun. We'll find out soon enough.
Playstation Battle Royale... are examples of bad clones.
yeaaaaah..You don't know what you are talking about
I actually heard it from one of the guys who work at Gametrailers.com, i didnt see it through PR from Sony. He was asked by another guy at Gametrailers.com who said it was a Smash Bros clone, and he then replied "i guess you can say that if you want to take a shortcut". The biggest difference is that you can only kill people with using specials. So it is more of an arms race to fill up your special meter and then use them. But there is also tactics to this because you have 3 levels of specials, and they all have their own advantage and disadvantage depending on the situation.
I dont think that anyone have said that it is something completely new, at least from what i have seen. There is no doubt that Battle Royale is heavily inspired by Smash Bros, but it is not a re-skin of Smash Bros as first claimed. It just looks like that at first glance.sounds like i was right to me but really Dont try and say it something new when it not, Same with this game
not saying its a bad thing just not for me
so because something's been done, no one should try to do it either/improve upon it?
They can but how many times have those Sony 'copy cat' type titles actually been better or unique compared to what else is on the market? I can't really think of anything and I'm not trying to be mean, but I really can't think of anything.
Ignoring the "waaah! Sony!" and "Waaah! Nintendo"-ing going on, who is the target audience of this product, and why is it Vita exclusive?
I feel that BurntPork raised a good point: Why not stick it on PSN and make it accessible to all three Sony devices? It'd be covering bases better, and garner more interest that way.
The game has Vita specific functions so they exact same game couldn't be on three platforms. And they need the exclusives if they wanna sell consoles, otherwise, what's the point?

Depends which you're referring to. ModNation had Play, Create, Share, which worked quite well. PSASBR seems to do a bit different, but it's up in the air if it will be good or not.
Yeah, they've definitely had some that are good successes. I mean in general I look at things like Home and Move and wonder what Sony was planning to do? I mean Move is basically left to die despite it having potential, Home I think hasn't really even taken off much.
I like the implication that no one's allowed to make Blue Ocean software because Nintendo "Invented" it.
Yeah, this is pretty much a real-life "Simpsons Did It!" moment.
Edit: And then it turns out it's not even a Sony game? Never change Nintendo fans.
So...it's Brain Age with leaderboards?
Just another example of Sony's "innovation."
Maybe I'm missing something, but the post says it's being produced by XDev Europe. The function of XDev is to publish games from external independent studios. So yeah, they're publishing the game, but Sony themselves isn't even making the game. Does that still mean Sony needs to be attacked for being copy cats? You people are absurd.
No one read the first post, No one
Publishers like Sony commission independent devs to make games for them all the time. Sony did a lot of it early in the PS3's life with stuff like Lair.Maybe I'm missing something, but the post says it's being produced by XDev Europe. Every dollar Sony wasted on this POS is a dollar that could have funded an Ape Escape game for the Vita....

A game being made in Europe probably has roughly 0 bearing on an Ape Escape game which would be made in Japan.

Why does nintendo fanboys come to every sony game thread and trying to manipulate it as copy cat?
I mean, really.
Sony doesn't have an unlimited budget for funding game development. Wasting money and things like a Brain Age rip off certainly has some bearing on other potential game projects...
I know I'm latte to this but...
Wasn't Smart As announced during the NGP January reveal, or at least the following E3? Why are we so pissed about it now, did something change?
I would also like to say that all this rage and argument over a simple minigame/brain training game is pretty laughable.
I am surprised there hasen't been a huge attack against Soul Sacrifice yet

There's been millions of these type of games across every platform known to man. Why are Nintendo fanboys getting sandy vaginas over this one?
- meh, Nintendo did it first.
but there are products with same idea before th-..
- meh, Nintendo did it better.
Nintendo has "copied" a lot of PC casual games, and just because they weren't "as popular" doesn't mean they get a free pass.
...such as? As I understand it, Brain Training was quite a revolutionary piece of software. Nintendo had to work hard to convince Japanese retailers to carry it because it was an unproven concept, but on release it became a sleeper phenomenon. What? I remember tons of people going gaga for those on PC in the late 90s. Those were some of the very early mobile phone games that most people used to play as well. So DS wasn't the only one that made it "popular", and what does that mean really? They still "copied" the idea from numerous PC games that came before them.
Brain Training is really nothing like The Incredible Machine.This. The Incredible Machine started a whole new audience of these puzzle games as well.
This is a bit disingenuous. The device in that video would not be able to control Sports Champions, or an FPS. Move is based on that technology, but its design evolution to the final form does appear to have been inspired by the Wii remote. What? The move IS a stick with a ball, and the principle of how it works is exactly the same as what's in that video. It's the final version of what you are seeing there.
It's a game with a series of puzzles that make you use ur brain. It's in the same genre. Its not the exact same formula but i only mentioned it because it was a really successful one.Brain Training is really nothing like The Incredible Machine.
Why? Because of the motion sensors? They've existed in controllers long before the Wii. Did you miss the part where he was controlling weapons ala Sports Champions btw? The core of the move is whats in that video. The motion sensors are to the move what wii motion plus is to the wand. Unless you wanna imply sony copied that too. This is a bit disingenuous. The device in that video would not be able to control Sports Champions, or an FPS. Move is based on that technology, but its design evolution to the final form does appear to have been inspired by the Wii remote.
For all the claims in this thread that other games in this genre predate Brain Training, I've yet to see one named.
