Sony: "No concerns" about any lack of PS4 software this Holiday

I found Tearaway to be incredibly boring on Vita, and I doubt it'll have mass appeal when released anyway.

The reason he used Tearaway was because well they haven't announced anything else for 2015 yet either, he's not going to mention an unannounced game like Michael Denny did with GT6 in 2013 lol.

It was my 2013 GOTY. But i guess it would have been boring if I was used to different types of games or didn't like creating.

If we get No Man's Sky with a full disc release in november, I don't think Sony is gonna be struggling this holiday. That game along with Bloodborne and all the third party games this year like MGSV, Witcher 3 and Batman will sell plenty of PS4's.

And Dragon Quest hereos, don't forget that.

So what exactly must Sony do to stop the "no games" talk? Because clearly actually releasing many different games and GOTY contenders like Bloodborne has no effect.

Dude it's Neogaf. Sony could announce a couple of games, and a HD remaster, with No Man's Sky release and people would still be having this conversation.

Neogaf going to Neogaf!

what GOTY contenders have they released outside of Bloodborne? pls don't say The Order

I think you should have said "releasing many different games and a GOTY contender like Bloodborne"

This is all because of Uncharted. If it was still Fall 2015 release, this debate wouldn't exist.

This will be a big holiday because of current-gen only releases and some high caliber multplatform titles. Sony's fairing through the holiday will rest on their pricing and strength of bundles, not their exclusive releases.

All these people shitting on Tearaway seem to have not actually played the game. No other reason to get hung up on that part of the quote.

Release virtually nothing until the holidays...
Hey its not like we play games during the other 9 months anyways.

Who games during preseason?

Only release all their games in Sept-Dec. Games are much better when released and played in the fall than say in the Spring. I mean seriously, who the hell wants to play BB this time of year? I know personally I will get more enjoyment from the game if I play it in November.

I really don't see anyone making any sense out of the "no games talk" not really sure where that is coming from.

And what GOTY contender outside of Halo 5 will MS release this year? Unless Forza ups their game dramatically, I don't think it is up for GOTY (well, maybe in the racing genre).

MLB:The show for sports fans.

Maybe not GOTY but Helldivers was great.

Year isn't over yet.

Damn, so Tearaway Unfolded is a fall title now? Not entirely surprising, but I'm really eager to finally experience it.

im not even sure why this debate even exists pre E3

lol

There isn't a "lack of software" for any of the platforms

Sorry for you Multiconsole owners and PC bros that feel gipped by not getting the exclusives you expect

The market is larger than that.

Lmao, it never gets old :D

Where did this "mistake" meme start?

Miyazaki and anime?

I'm at work, so I can't see what that image is, but I guess its something on the lines of "Anime was a mistake", right?

That was an interview the guy (Miyazaki) had about todays anime as an art form or cultural industry, how mangakas don't do stuff with inspiration in actual human behaviour.

That quote definitely was extrapolated from it, but IIRC, he didn't say that at all. He was just dissatisfied with the way anime is being done and where it was heading.

Honestly feels like those people that at an all-you-can-eat buffet are complaining about how their little plates are empty, while there's good stuff at the table and so much more in the kitchen they can't even imagine.

Aside from how silly your comment is on a fundamental level, on a serious note, this would be sales suicide for a game like Bloodborne. It would get lost amidst the hype of huge franchise releases.

I snorted. I think some people might miss the sarcasm though.

Because they're obviously going to step up and say "Guys, we fucked up on the lineup this Fall. There'll be some exclusive small stuff & DLC coming, but maybe just buy an XBox for this season. Our bad."

I wouldn't take this as an indicator that they have a massive 2015 first party title under their sleeves. Maybe another mid-sized LBP3—scale announcement, but not quite GoW 4.

It is literally somebody's job to make this statement regardless of company status.

is this real life?

I hope No Man's Sky is very much playable and pre-viewable by visitors and press at E3 because it seems like they've gone silent since last year.

I remember a flurry of articles about the game in a short period of time, after they invited several gaming sites/pubs to visit their studios last year.

But since then - pretty much silence.

oh man

Sony can't possibly hope to hinge their entire 1st party lineup on Tearaway Unfolded this Fall. There's got to be some bombs dropping at E3. Or maybe Sony just doesn't care and 3rd parties are enough for now. We'll see.

E3 SHOULD BE INTERESTING.

well I own PS4 mostly for exclusives so this sucks.

See? This is the only reason we keep having these discussions on here

As someone who uses PS4 as my main platform Ive been more than satisfied with the software and experience

Sony doesn't sell the system as a companion to PC owners. They have a platform and ecosystem that is in the leader and is thriving and chock full of software choices

I dont expect them to acknowledge a lack of "exclusives" as an issue as long as the library is robust and customers are happy

Ps4 is the new Xbox 360

Only difference is Sony is are making New IP's along with the wealth of Third party offerings.

Xbox 360 use to do that in it's earlier life cycle. It's just taking Sony longer because of quality control issues, and they have their fingers in everything now.

i think it could be a mix of the two. once they found out that Uncharted4 wasn't going to hit in 2015 they went out and perused additional marketing deals. hopefully they also have a surprise 2015 announcement too.

Its incredibly sad and predictable at this point. Its just a "lol talking point" for some people. It never was an issue until last year.

This! A friend of mine was playing MKX online last week. What a weirdo, I mean, it's not even september.

I know I'm in the minority here, but Black Ops 3 and Battlefront are going to be enough for me at Christmas...

Dw you're not in the minority.
Comments we see here usually come from a vocal minority who only bought the ps4 for exclusives, are trolls or people who for some reason dont think 3rd party games count as games.

The majority of ps4 owners will buy from the plethora of games releasing this holiday because a game being multiplat means nothing to them.

Pretty much just interested in Tearaway and Persona 5 (If it actually comes out this year, I have a feeling it might not, waiting til E3), but usually E3 may bring a few surprises. No Man's Sky isn't really my type of thing from what I've seen so far, so it's hard for me to get interested in that. If Dragon Quest Monsters comes out this year I'll probably be picking that up also, but mostly just to support more Dragon Quest in the west, I learned from Hyrule Warriors that I can't seem to enjoy Warriors games much either >_< Tearaway though should be great, especially to see how they changed certain sections of the game from the Vita. Became a big fan of the game on Vita when I played it last year, makes me want Media Molecule to dump LBP and never look back, and work on more Tearaway lol. Speaking of vita titles, hoping that E3 finally gives us a chance to see that rumored Gravity Rush game for PS4, the original game was really great

Funny guy, but seriously imagine if that was the case, nobody would be able to purchase all these games farless play them, only a few games would be successful in the holiday rush. I imagine a game like destiny would fare well in such a scenario.
