Sony: "No concerns" about any lack of PS4 software this Holiday

I would bet money that Sony will give us a first party FPS (next Killzone or next Resistance) on winter 2015 and does anyone expect that on the 10nth anniversary of God of War franchise Sony will not have something GoW related?

Sony needs something strong from its first party portfolio to compete with Halo 5 (fps), Forza 6 (racer), Rise of the Tomb Raider (TP adventure), Gears of War 1 Remaster (TPS) and Fable Legends (RPG) on the winter…

Driveclub PS Plus edition can be an answer to Forza 6, Killzone Shadowfall 2 or Killzone Mercenaries HD port from vita (or Resistance 4) can be an answer to Halo 5. I guess that the Guerilla RPG can be also an answer to Fable and God of War 4 is a game in its own league…

I hope nothing leaks until E3 though, because I feel that we almost know every game that is going to be in the presentations almost a month before the event… (minus two or three great surpices)

Sony's big fall game is gonna be The Last Guardian.

Why have so many people been expecting a huge fall release from Sony anyway? For the last several years of last gen and so far this gen they've been putting out their big games in spring/summer.

They may oficially announce GoW4 (or this was already done?) with a teaser. But I don't think there will be another GoW this year besides God of War 3 remaster.

Now, they will most certainly announce the next Guerrilla game, the said RPG (not a next Killzone). That could actually be released this year, who knows (besides its unlikely I guess). Insomniac is working on Ratchet & Clank, so no Resistance either.

Is there any news for Hellblade?

must be why they delayed UC4 and Ratchet, keep the release strategy going. First party AAA titles in the Spring, third party marketing mutiplatform titles like Star Wars Battlefront

Shitting on tearaway for not betting a system move is pathetic.

I didn't shit on teraway. The fuck?
How is that shitting on it? I'm sure its an excellent game. But people aren't gonna buy a PS4 for it. Come on now.

It's way too early to suggest November/December sales estimates. Ridiculous to declare them in a list of "facts".

I would like to see a list of what he considers a triple a game tbh.

Why are you only focusing on America when Sony will massively outsell MS outside of it?

NPD on the brain. Honestly, when talking about Xbox versus PS4 for sales, you can really only talk about NA and UK. No point really talking about sales versus the 2 consoles in the middle east for instance....

UC4 was probably because of ND wanting more time and Ratchet because the movie was delayed.

If it was up to me, I know I wouldn't want to release an exclusive title among the CoD, AC, BF onslaught.

Ratchet was due to the movie. Wouldn't be surprised if Uncharted was pushed back to fill in a spring gap.

people in this thread were shitting on the game. If they were shitting on it because its not a system seller then that is a pathetic reason. was not talking about you.

Do people really think consumers ignore games that released previously when they talk about system movers? I mean if I had a choice between a system that has Bloodborne and a system that has Halo 5, I would go with the former, and I am sure others would too. When it comes to what Sony has in store for this Fall, I'm just gonna wait and see because things like Rime and NMS excited me more then the sequel to Tomb Raider and the 5th game in a Halo series. Either way I will be playing all of those games I just listed.

Really glad we don't know what's coming by Holiday season. I appreciate when games are announced closer to release dates rather than later. Any game that would announce it's release a month prior to shipment gets my immediate respect and attention. Along with hype that won't dwindle as I wait.

The fact these questions are coming up and you are hearing more complaints on podcasts is telling that Sony needs to step it up. They are the leader for great reasons and now they need to take the bull by the horns and run with it. Here's hoping fir a great e3

Sony doesn't have to compete with halo, Halo has to worry about Call of Duty, Battlefront and new Destiny, 2 out of the 3 will probably have Sony marketing

So they don't need an exclusive per say in the FPS market

They need to let us know what their studios are working on. Too many of them have been too quiet since the gen started. We know we're getting Uncharted and Ratchet and Clank next year but after that we have no idea while MS has probably announced most of their 2016 line up already.

The problem there is that if they start telling you what studios are working on then people will start complaining about them announcing games too early.

As a PS4 gamer I honestly wonder why they don't release more games... I bought the PS4 especially because I liked Sony's output on the Ps3...

Uncharted 4 was pushed back because they need more time to make the game as great as they want it to be.

Naughty Dog keeps wanting to out do themselves, and The Last of Us is though to surpass.

this fall it doesn't matter what 1st party game comes out in the fall when theirs too many 3rd party franchise games coming out and PlayStation sweeping up the marketing rights to those games is the smart choice. Gamers just want to play games and most likely both console gamers will play these 3rd party games the most then they would of played any 1st party game by the end of the year.

Agreed, which is why I think the whole "no games" thing is gaining momentum. They don't want to announce anything too early but they also want things to be polished and outside of ND and MM the games WWS have made have not been reviewing up to the level the company would like. I think thr combination of giving several studios some more time to get quality up and wanting to avoid announcing stuff too early has led to a fairly large gap between when they've announced new games they're making for the platform. Hopefully E3 changes that.

Because it takes time to set up their games on the new platform, and a lot of the big sony devs either released games at the end of the PS3 cycle, or got their games cancelled.

Its unfortunate luck for that is happening right now with the output of SCE WW.

Even though they haven't announced some games, we actually know about several games.

Polyphony - Gran Turismo 7
Guerrilla Games - Open world RPG codenamed Horizon
Sony Santa Monica - God of War
Sony Bend - Open world survival-horror
Sony Japan - TLG (PS4), Gravity Rush HD (PS4), Gravity Rush 2 (?)

That still leaves many other internal studios without anything even rumored. Then you have whatever Quantic Dream is working on. I'm not sure if there's even any speculation of what it'll be, but we know they have something in development.

Until DAWN, Dragon Quest Heroes, Teraway, Rime, Wild, No man's sky, Shadow of the beast. ANd i'm leaving out the possible surprise game they are probably going to announce.

That doesn't sound like a solid exclusive linep to me.
Also Wild hasn't been confirmed for 2015, No Man's Sky isn't exclusive and from the gameplay videos the other day Shadow of the beast looks like an okish sidescroller.

They really just lack that big, highly anticipated AAA game to go alongside these games

I would love love love Killzone Mercenaries ps4 using the shadowfall engine

Thank you

I always feel as though people are mad at sony for supporting the ps3 in 2013.

I wasn't clear with my original post. I think people just want some concrete footage/trailers/screens from these games instead of just rumors and vague announcements. I know I'm getting to that point as well even though Inhave plenty to play on the console.

Pretty sure both Killzone and Resistance are at least on the back burner for now so unless they're working up something new, which they should imo then I don't think we'll be seeing a new first party FPS from Sony for a while, but what the hell do I know, this is just assumption.

There are rumors of an Uncharted Trilogy remaster which would be pretty huge, for old and new fans alike.

I would likely agree with you more if first party titles weren't so sparse. Sony has been moving consoles like crazy without as many exclusives, I can't deny that, but how long will that approach be sustainable? Xbox still had games like Halo to keep players around, Wii had plenty of first party titles. I think what helped keep the PS3 competitive last gen were games from Naughty Dog or Santa Monica, etc.

I can see what you're saying to some degree, but why settle for what they're doing if they can produce exclusives and likely sell a ton more systems than they already are? Why be complacent when you're ahead when you can capitalize on your success and go even further? If you have that opportunity, I think you should take it.

But it's been proven time and time again that exclusives are not the biggest factor for selling consoles. If that were true, the Wii U would be the fastest selling console of all time by a mile. Exclusives are nice to have because the teams that make them focus on one SKU and push the shit out of it and they tend to look nicer than a multiplat. Multiplatform games sell systems, it's why when Destiny was released there were a ton of PS4 sold just for that game (even though it was also released on the Xbox, PS3 and 360). If anything, on how aggressive Sony has been with third party exclusive marketing deals, they have been the least complacent this generation. Grabbing the mind share from people that don't hang around gaming forums is way more important with 3rd party games to make those people think it is exclusive to their platform when they aren't. This also gives their WWS time to develop games at their pace, and if they need more time they can get it specifically because the system is selling well thanks to third party titles.
