Sony opens sign-up for the next PS4 system software beta

I had zero problems in the last beta but I was only picked after the release of their patched beta firmware.

Did people have big problems before that? Anything that couldn't be fixed by rolling back the non-beta firmware? (which you always have the option to, even from the normal UI)

Basically I'm only worried about P.T. :P but even that I could regain from the backup I did for switching the HDD.


I hope it's not mostly new social features but I would guess so as that's the main reason why they do a public beta, need more machines to test connections etc.

It's Sony's firmware team. Prep for terrible social features. We need more autoplaying, grainy videos crammed in somewhere.

yep. I have zero expectations (and I'm still going to feel let down when it comes out and it has nothing that people have been asking for)

It got much better as it went on but the early releases had my console not turning off properly.
 
Thanks, signed up. Managed to get into the last Beta. Interested to see if I make the cut this time, and what new features await us.
 
Signed up, I got into the 3.00 beta, and I want to see what features they will bring. I really just want them to bring back the USB music player. I don't really like the media player app, and USB music player worked perfectly before being taken away in 3.00

On the list I wouldn't mind seeing:
PS1 classics
Telling who's online (though If I can select who I want to be notified that went online and went offline. So I don't get bombarded by notifications constantly)
Custom backgrounds
Store wish list
Change PSN ID (Though I wouldn't change my name, but it's a heavily requested feature to have)
 
I went and signed up for it. There's a good chance that Vita remote play will be broken during the beta update but that's a sacrifice I'm willing to take.
 
Looking forward to some more niche features without any of the things people would actually use. Plus some more precious stabilité. Excelsior!!!

I think if you pair them with friend groups it works well. Say I want to be notified when family logs in, or Destiny or Driveclub friends or a particular person, but not everyone else. Similar to social media platforms, allow groupings and categories of friends, then have individual notification settings per group or per individual basis.

That said the list in the image above is pretty weak. I'd like more media and library/folder customization settings before offline, library deletion, avatars or bigger parties.
 
Personally I am hoping for folders, an appear offline mode and the removal of the annoying 'Player Recommended' section of the overview that has autoplaying streams of annoying people and screenshots that sometimes contain spoilers.
 
Right now, I want someone to address the issue where people started getting "Rebuilding Database 1 second remaining" on every startup after FW 3.0. It randomly started happening to people, myself included, and there still hasn't been a fix.
 
Surely folders and custom backgrounds have to be a givin. Alot of people have bitched (myself included) about these two id like to see deleting stuff from the library tho and more trophy customization.

I signed up got in last time heres to hoping.
 
Think its about time we get Folders...surely?
Personally not so keen for it, but I know a lot are, so maybe USB/External HDD support?

Other than that, keep lowering the OS Footprint. Give the games all the power they can get.

EDIT: Oh and the above picture reminding me. BETTER WAYS TO VIEW YOUR DOWNLOAD LIST.
At least filters to sort by Name, Date purchased, or better yet, a search box or something.
