Sony PSN Network connectivity Issues

Playing BF4 all night. Downloaded Warframe Resogun, Netflix, and Redbox Instant. My registration went straight through at around 1230 but my son just got his to go through a few minutes ago. Took about 30 minutes and 6 tries.
Another thing. I just remembered. When we first tried to log him on, we would just get that spinning wheel and nothing would happen. We completely shut the PS4 down and restarted it. Then we logged in and tried a few times to sign him in. Seemed like every time it went a little further. Finally it went through. Takes some persistence but it'll come round.
 
I'm in and all is well, downloading the game update hoping that will make CoD work. Only complaint is my controllers kind of geeking out. It'll switch to the front game screen while I'm in other menus. If it keeps up I hope Best Buy will switch it out tomorrow right away
 
OK, so I restarted the download after it got hung up while it was "preparing to install"... And nothing. Connection issues all around. Anyway.

I tried the USB method and it says it doesn't recognize any USB plugged to the system. I triple-checked that the files were written accordingly and still nothing. Anyone else with this issue? What am I missing?

Go to login to the store, hit update, it will give you an ok to continue, then an error message. It will delete your downloaded update. Then re-enter the PS store and update like you just tried and it should be good.

No I did not. I installed the 300ish MB update from USB, set up my network and then tried to log into PSN. I'm past that part now though, must just be the servers. I set my privacy options and hit enter but now it's doing please wait again and won't let me back out with circle (just makes the noise but nothing happens). PS button does nothing either (pops up with a not allowed sign). Not sure if I should just manually power off my system or what...
 
Yikes, that's rough. My system update was like 70% downloaded by the time I finished the initial setup with the time and date. #Ethernet
 
Anyone stuck on the please wait thing after entering in Facebook stuff?

I might have to leave my ps4 on and sleep, to scared to just shut it off. Won't let me leave the page, keeps saying please wait :(

When mine got stuck I just hit the PlayStation button on the controller and signed out.
 
Finally logged in 40 minutes or so ago, added about 5 games to my download list. They are downloading now but the store kicks you out repeatedly because of "server maintenance"


It's definitely stabilizing a bit, cause it wouldn't even let me log in earlier tonight.

I had the please wait earlier after entering friend privacy settings after you initially log in. I just held the home button down, turned off my PS4 from the menu, turned the system on manually, everything was fine....



There was no back button when I was starting at the please wait spinning disc icon.....
 
How many times do we have to do this before early adopters understand that this is what launches are? That's not something that will change, so if you don't like it (and of course you don't because no one would), day one isn't for you.
 
Got kicked out of the store a bunch of times trying to get Resogun and Contrast but once I got them added they downloaded fine.
 
Resogun took 5 minutes

Edit: Warframe was also downloading. Warframe much larger file I assume, about 15% after 5 minutes
 
Yeah, I am on an endless loop. Half the time I can get onto PSN, but it has me updating my status on some stuff, get through that and end at a Please Wait screen. 4 tries so far, 3 of them getting to where I am not, once it telling me PSN is down. Arghhh! Been at this for 30 minutes now.
 
Signing in was a bitch but it's smooth sailing once you actually get in. Downloaded Resogun in about 10 minutes and uploaded some videos and screenshots of Killzone to Facebook.
 
I think I'm going to download the 1.5 patch and USB it at EU release, reading some of these posts. Just seems like the low drama option.
 
I hope PSN doesn't go down all over again during the other global launches, lol.
 
Yeah, I'm stuck on psn login. Can't backout of it either. No option to sign out, only go to standby or power off. :/

edit: standby and back in worked. :)
 
so i got past the "who can see your trophies..." now it just says "Please Wait" with a spinning wheel for like 10 minutes...
