There's only one thing that makes me wish people would die slow, horrible and really painful death and that's ****ing calling Soul Calibur - Soul Caliber. That's mind blowing idiotic and I see that **** up 50% the time the game shows up, even on the games sites as news. Why? Why? Why the flying ****?

How do you feel about people saying VIRTUAL Tennis?

Xbox 360 version:

-The Arbiter
-Kaim

PS3 version:
-Kratos
-Cloud
-Nariko

Multi guest characters
-Dante

Make it happen plz
This list makes no sense. Why would Ryu appear only on the Xbox, while Dante and Samanosuke would be multi?

Oh wait, I know why.

Nothing. That's not common and besides, Soul Caliber is my only obsession. And it's not about spelling. It never is. Caliber and Calibur don't sound the same. Everyone knows what is "caliber" or at least know that the meaning is attached to firearms. Gamers also know what is Soul Calibur. Not to mention pretty popular Excalibur legend. Yet someone, somewhere will always think that's a very good and logical idea to change one word for another. Don't know why that is the thing that so much gets on my nerves. I really don't. Maybe because (Ex)calibur and caliber are so apart in the meaning yet both are somewhat attached to weapons?

Cuz Devil May Cry is multiplatform this generation and Samanosuke made his appearance on the Xbox (1).

Check out this quote from the latest EGM:

"We've heard that some phenomenally popular saber-rattlers from a major film series may be joining the cast..."

Could we really see a PotC character landing on the 360? Or what about a Star Wars character? Gah, this opens up a whole new can of worms.

Hmmm... an interesting turn of events...

The guest characters are from "Pirates of the Caribbean", and had Pirates 2 and 3 never been made I might have actually liked the decision. Now we get to argue "Which console gets Jack Sparrow and which gets Davy Jones?". I'm thinking the PS3 gets Jack.

At least we have online play.

Caliber and "Calibur" don't sound the same?

And you know they are just going to be Raphael with a different skin.

That is exactly what I was worried about. However, Johnny Depp's style in the movies, if properly translated into fighting game form, would be a marked change from Raphael. Whether they actually do that or not is another question.

Hopefully drastically nerfed from Soul Calibur 2. He (aside from Link in the Cube version) was the most ridiculously overpowered character ever. His attacks covered way too wide a range of space for the difficulty of their inputs.

Or Cervantes with a slightly different moveset. Remember, Cervantes is a pirate and has been around since Soul Edge.

maybe one of each. Jack= raphael variant, Barbossa= cervantes variant.

The EGM feature indicated there would be a number of "unused" movesets available for custom characters like in SC3, so maybe they'll go with a completely different style altogether?

anyway, a movie tie in to PoTC could work, but it would cheapen the series, IMHO. I'd rather see fighters from other series (a Ryu Variant, Dante, someone else from Tekken) show up.

edit:

Speaking of the name always being misspelled, am I the only one who realizes the name Soulcalibur is one word?

this is a recent change. it was 2 words for the last three installments.

Raph was bottom of the barrel in SC3.

No it wasn't. The sword in the stoy is Soul Calibur but the game title has always been Soulcalibur or SoulCalibur. Look at the trademarks, press releases and how they spell it in the game.

I want Spawn back for 360.

Regardless of how well he "fits" into the game, he was a good character with a decent story and was the only battle axe wielding character.

This time however, they should add his CAPE! And none of that "his axe is his cape" crap either.

If not Spawn again, then I'd like to see the Arbiter from Halo. Once again, screw "fitting in", it's a fighting game, and there is already a freaking lizard man! Just make sure the character has a good move set!

In SCIII they replaced Lizzie's Gladius for a Battle Axe, even though his moveset remained very similar.

pirates and star wars are pretty good guesses given the hint.

What's so hard to remeber that the game is about ****ing sword fighting not shooting the ****ing guns! Where does this "caliber" come from? Seriously, most people look at the game see sword clashes and still have the ****ing urge to call it "caliber"? Calibur like, you know, ****ing EXcalibur - the SWORD. Can that make a bit more sense for those people, hmmm?!

Is calibur even a ****ing word?

I hoping somebody from LOTR now.....

could be, but i think the movies traveler initially guessed make more sense.

the lotr rights are pretty complicated (pretty sure the film and game rights are seperate) whereas lucasfilm has the film and game rights to star wars and disney has the film and game rights to pirates.
