Soul Calibur Legends videos on GT

The Sophitia video's one of the better ones btw. :x

I think they are all of the same incredibly mediocre quality. Just looking at this game, I am bored to tears. It's like they were banking on waggle making this game fun enough for people to look past... well every other aspect. These videos show no redeeming features, but then again they are only a few second each, so who knows.

Yikes...well, at least I wasn't expecting much, and at least I have a PS3 to play some real Soul Calibur next year.

I feel like an extra year of dev time would have let this go against ninja gaiden (it still would lose, but not as painfully).

Why the hell don't they just delay it? It won't sell this holiday....at all.

I will be buying this game... In a bargain bin for $10... 2 years from now.
Unless what we're seeing is an Alpha build, and they're just teasing us.

You know, I'm a HUGE SC fan and I kept an open mind even after all the hate for this started before we had even seen screen shots, and I even enjoyed the trailers.... but after these videos, I don't think I'll be getting it. It just looks terrible from those videos and my god, it looks like a lot of waggling.

Maybe if they add classic controller support so I don't have to break a wrist to play it I'll give it another chance.

Most Wii games look better when seen in video form. This actually looked better in screenshots.

This is not good.

These developers really need to start caring about their products.

At the present moment i find it EXTREMELy hard to see any love or even care about the product their making. Its like the Team who are making this is probably seeing this as detention and more being punished.

YOU BEEN NAUGHTY GO DEVELOPE A WII GAME = scribble i will not troll on the blackboard x 1000

Death By Degrees for another generation. :lol

You know what game this reminds me of? Berserk for the Dreamcast. Seriously.

I actually want to play this game, since it's been a long I haven't play a beat'em up. They were so rare on GC and now on Wii. A good rental for me I guess.

Is this travesty being developed by the actual Soul Calibur team?
I think so. The only logical explaination for this is that all of their resources are being used on Soul Calibur IV, and this is being treated as an afterthought...

I usually tie lack of resources to bugs, lack of content, and weak graphics, but here even the gameplay and design looks to be a bore. So much for the Bamco dream team :lol

I am so excited for this game.

Fuck the haters. I think this is the perfect type of game for the Wii, it really allows a younger demograph to have fun at destorying opponents by taking advantage of everything the Wii remote has to offer. It's fast, fun, and fluid. It may not have a lot of depth, or the visuals may not be pretty -- but it wasn't like the visuals in Wii sports were all that good.

....pppfffffft mwhahaha....oh, sometimes guys...just sometimes, I amaze myself. I made a funny

I'm telling ya, the SC Legends dev team were diverted to the SCIV team so that they can make the love pillows of Taki and Ivy more jiggly! :lol

>.> And watch how this will be used as an example of how third party games on Wii dont sell.

Not just by Namco, but by the exact same people saying the game looks like crap in this thread. Which is does.

It's the circle of life.

You know I hope this actually scores really well and sells a lot.

Just to see GAF's reaction.

If everyone scores it well (as unlikely as I think that may be), then I'm sure Gaf would either not care or hold it up as a third party success story on the Wii. The only thing that would send Gaf into an uproar is if the game scores according to how it looks right now (terrible) and still sells a lot. However situation B is just as unlikely as A.

Don't worry, it'll sell.

Not bad, actually. Just another year of development time, and it should be great.

Lloyd is a pretty bad character for all the attention he gets. Even in ToS2 they're making him out to be some kind of plaster saint with statues and everything. Cress saved the same world Lloyd did and no one ever made a statue of him ('cause Cress isn't a whiny showoff maniac).

I played this at TGS. It was ok. Kinda fun to play and had pretty good animation. But the graphics were bland and the ememies were boring. I actually had a lot more fun playing Oneechanbara R if that tells you anything.

=\

Namco should just remarket this game as their own version of Wii-Fit with a soul calibur beat-em-up mini game.

I bet you did. Yes, that tells us something alright. :p

Actually I'm getting a bit of an Oneechanbara vibe from Legends. If it was picked up by D3 and re-titled "Simple 2000 Volume 201: The Sword Waggle Quest" it wouldn't seem terribly inappropriate.

I love Soul Calibur, but I'll only be buying this for the sake of completionism. I'm pretty disappointed at how it's turned out.

Hmmm...after watching all of the videos, I think it looks pretty cool. The only thing I wish they would have done is add better lighting. Outside of that, if it's 60FPS and there's lots of ass kickin', I'm in. Besides, what's better than watching Taki's rear-end for hours on end? ;)

This is the most unflattering thing anyone has said in this thread so far. Good show.

For me, it reminds me of P.N.03... only not as pretty... and not as exciting... actually, I think the only reason it reminded me of P.N.03 is the bland and repetitive backdrops and enemies, otherwise... I'd rather have a P.N.03 sequel than this. Hell, I want Project H.A.M.M.E.R. back from the dead if this is the best beat-em-up 3rd parties can provide.
