I've already argued about this, but LE SHOULD NOT be about in-game content. You want to bundle stupid t-shirts or art books or whatever with an LE? Great. But there's absolutely no reason to punish the major of Soul Calibur IV owners - those who bought the regular version of the game - by not giving them any access to specific in-game content. Everybody who buys any version of the game should have, in some way, access to every single element of said game. What about somebody who buys the game three months from now? It's okay for them to have no choice in getting those outfit pieces?
A company that makes the limited edition version of a game the "real" version of that game is a company I'm not going to continue buying games from.
There's NOTHING to indicate that the
PREMIUM EDTION is a limited edition, so please stop referring to it as so. I still see it on store shelves and it's instock on Amazon. It's not that rare. Hell, I still see MGS4 special editions on shelves, so I doubt it'll be a problem in 3 months. Obviously at some point it will be hard to get, but nothing stays in print forever, especially in the video game industry. I can't download camo patterns for MGS3 anymore, it doesn't mean I'm going to stop buying Konami games.
Namco not punishing anyone. You are not going to lose a match online because you don't have a Japanese schoolgirl sweater. While they we not exactly clear about what the DLC parts were, them being exclusive to the Premium Edition was known the second that was even announced. It also says right on the package that the content is "not sold anywhere else in the US", so you can't really feign ignorance on that either. The only thing you're missing out on is some extra fluff that
you decided on your own not go get, so I don't know why it's such a hot issue with you that you need to keep bringing it up.
If I'm going to pay a premium price for something, I want something, like a soundtrack or artbook that simply wouldn't sell otherwise in this market, or something I can't get anywhere else, like in-game content. Now, if it gave people an unfair advantage or was stupidly limited, I could understand, but that is not the case with SC4.
If a company releases a 1-disc DVD and a 2-disc DVD with a higher price on the same day, are you getting less of a movie with the 1-disc? No. You are getting an
option of spending more money on the same movie with extra stuff. Should they not include good features like deleted scenes and just stuff in junk like a t-shirt because you refuse to buy the more expensive version? No, they should include something people actually want so they do spend the money on the premium version.
