Sound problems in XBMC-Please Help!

Hey all
just recently borrowed my freinds xbox for xbmc use (xbox media center).

Some of my divx's , the sound is kind of odd. Its like distorted , and pops and spikes at points.
Its not all of my files , but some and its really annoying.

I was just wondering if anyone knows of an alternative or a solution to this problem?

Or if maybe using xbmc through spdif on a receiver will clean up the sound?

Its mostly tv shows it seems to happen on , especially futurama, which sucks as it was the main reason i borrowed this in the first place.

Please let me know guys. Thanks!

Also , if this aint legit , lock the thread.

How is it hooked to your stereo ? Have you tried disabling digital audio output ? What version of XBMC are you using ?

Hey im already on the latest and final version.

No for now im using just the regular audio cables (RCA) because its all i have.

I ordered an hdtv hd av thing off ebay yesterday for component and digital audio (fibre optic)

I checked the audio settings in xbmc and theres nothing i can change since all i have is the regular cables.

Any other ideas? thanks.

btw i think its 2.01 or soemthing the version.

Hmm it seems one was released yesterday , i will try it out but it wont probably wont change anything. Will let you guys know. Thanks!

set your receiver to stereo mode.

you should probably read the thread before you try to give advice , i appreciate that youre trying , but i as i said its hooked directly to a tv right now hence no stereo.

Anyways. The new version of XBMC seems to do the trick so far...maybe it was a setting i had changed on the other one that made it funky...anyways thanks for the help guys everything seems a-ok.

Btw , has anyone tried playing a 720p wmv or mkv on xbmc?

Uh, don't. I haven't tried it.

If you read the wiki, you would know the Xbox 1's CPU is not powerful enough to decode those images at a fast speed. Just don't try it.
