I live in Greenville.

I actually like it here. It's a nice little place, and it appears as if this city is finally starting to wake up from Bob Jones induced coma. There's no disputing the fact that the downtown is pretty with some nice architecture. Some of the bars suck, but I really dig that new Belgium bar opened in the downtown.

By the way, the city waking up from the Bob Jones induced coma is mostly due to the influx of northerners like myself.

Edit: SC has the second worst drivers I've seen. The worst reside in Massachusetts.
 
I have an aunt and uncle that live in South Carolina.
And a cousin that's in prison in South Carolina for murdering a neighbor, but we don't talk about him.

Yeah, Greenville is okay.

I'll have to try that Belgium bar out whenever I get a chance.

Also fuck Nikki Haley, bitch is beyond worthless. In 2011 she gave her office employees a raise...keep in mind they were already on a 6 figure salary. But state workers haven't gotten a pay increase in for-fucking-ever. Still using ridiculously outdated pay grades then saying the state can't afford it....really? REEALLLY? Bitch go to Argentina with Sanford.

I got in a wreck on Assembly St downtown at the intersection where Wells Fargo is; what you described happened. Guy smashed into the front right side of my car. He stated "I didn't see you."

I drive a bright blue Scion TC...it's hard to miss me.
 
I live very close to SC. One day I got lost, no cell signal, no gas, no gas stations or houses in sight. Finally had to stop at a house/gas station and felt like I was about to get murder in a horror movie type situation.

NEVER AGAIN.

Anybody here been to South of the Border? I'm Tar-Heel born (thank goodness), but my mom's side of the family is from SC. She used to be a waitress at South of the Border back in the 1960s, I think.
I've only been there once when I was 6 or so, but even then I knew that place was super weird...
 
Driving up 28 through Walhalla and then going right on 107 toward Cashiers, NC. There is some beautiful country up there. Along the Chattooga River and up in the foothills. Try walking to the Big Bend area of the Chattooga.
Or go up to the Jones Gap area in Greenville County.
SC does have some good points as far as outdoor recreation. The Palmetto trail system Good canoeing.
And Charleston is a very nice city. Great place to spend a couple of days in cool weather and see all the sights downtown. Excellent restaurants. Lots of history. College of Charleston is right downtown. Good bars and shops.
I'm from Georgia, but I like visiting SC. Plus gas is ten cents a gallon cheaper.
 
I have my fond memories of living in Charlotte NC as a kid, but as a west side resident, I don't have many great things to say about it. Wouldn't wanna leave a nice BMW parked outside if you ever move there.

I'm in Charleston right now though, pretty nice city.

The beach is nice too. Had a couple of friends get bit by sharks though, and now I'm afraid of going in deep water.

I live in NC. I really wish the northerners would stay away. I work with at least five and all they do is complain about the cultural differences and praise the cost of living. Meanwhile, the economy is in the shitter.

There is a peach farm on the way to the beach that I always stop at for their home made peach Ice cream... they sell it from some tables at the edge of their farm right off the Highway. (I think its US29) That stuff is so good, my beach trip isnt complete unless I stop there on the way back.

I refuse to raise a family in this state.
 
The most beautiful girl I dated was from SC. Korean girl with a southern accent.

I'm pretty liberal so I don't see myself living in SC for very long either.

I think Washington state will be my next destination after I get done with college.

Seems like a lot of Koreans move to South Carolina. I think it has something to do with Bob Jones University having some connections in South Korea.

Anyone who lives in or near Greenville want to go to a bar Friday night? Preferably one that's located downtown. edit: Or at least one that doesn't suck.
 
I was in Greenville last Friday night. Worked up there for a few days last week. I didn't know what Twin Peaks was when I went up there, so you can say I was pleasantly surprised.

Fuck the Carolina Ale House. That's known as the place where the South Carolina ball coach took a leak.

That said, my schedule is pretty stacked for this week, so I'm going to have to take a rain check.
 
Moved to the Charlestown area recently from Philly and we despise it. People suck, economy sucks, schools suck. Can't wait to move.
 
Charleston area's not that bad. I wouldn't put my kids in Charleston County schools, though. Dorchester 2.

I'm here in good ol' Sumter...Thank you USAF for placing me in one of the greatest places known to our great nation...

Other than that SC isn't so bad, I'm originally from CA myself so it was a little culture shock when I first go here.

I went on the rapids that the Deliverance was filmed on this past summer. It's a pretty kick-ass river. It was really nice to relax on the river after I went through all the rapids. August felt so much nicer in SC/Georgia than in Florida.
