I had to look up what the Matthew stuff was referring to but other than that it was a fun episode. I know Wacky Racers from the PS1 game. Not sure if it ever aired over here actually. Good season so far.

Damn that ending was kinda dark. Pretty good episode though. The supermarket running out of cereal was hilarious.

And Nathan getting raped by a transwoman.

it was an okay episode. I'd never heard of Wacky Races before. I found that part pretty boring aside from Neve Campbell's queef car.

Even that was a direct reference to one of the original drivers :D

Yeah, I have a feeling Wacky Races was a nod to us 90's kids who watched Cartoon Network when they reran 60's to 80's shows and 70's kids who grew up with the show.
I thought it was very clever because there has not been a nod since that 2001 "Rat Race" movie.

Rat Race was a nod to Wacky Races? I thought it was just a really shitty rip-off of "It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad World".

Didn't care for this one, especially after how good the first three episodes were. That ending was brutal. Funny, but brutal. As for Wacky Races: I thought the adult reaction was way funnier than the race itself. Supermarket running out of cereal, Randy's comments while they were watching, etc.

Finally, what was up with that trans rape scene? It's almost like they were annoyed by the kudos they got for the treatment of the subject last week. Really weird.

Why do you guys hate those guys? I find them hilarious. Other than Nathan getting raped and the wacky racer segment, this episode was pretty meh. Weakest episode so far this season and that ending was kind of depressing. Hopefully, next episode will be better.

Need to re-watch the episode because I was distracted through some of it.

But I grew up loving the Wacky Races, so that part had me laughing pretty good. Loved seeing the Hummer salesman return. I think the last time we saw him was the Star Wars to Disney episode. Also, Nathan and Mimsey are always funny.

Loved the little pieces of continuity in this one too. Randy riding by singing Lorde was great. These little off-shoot episodes can be hit or miss; but I think this one hit the mark for most of the parts I really paid attention to.

Why was Dick Dastardly an old man though? Was he supposed to be someone?

I mean Muttley had his original design, but Dick didn't?

I loved the end sequence and the ending, I felt bad for Nathan at the end. His parents are jerks. Then again, this is South Park where everyone is a bit of a jerk.

You missed the Lorde cameo though...

Well, yeah, it had a cameo. But then it still really isn't tied in at all. Not compared to the previous episodes which had more references. And the previous episode that built its entire plot around it.

That's the joke. Spend a whole episode handling a controversial subject with tact and respect and get a massive amount of good will for it, then destroy it all in a 10 second scene. Knowing their sense of humor, I bet they laughed harder making that than they did anything else this episode.

They've done this thing before. Listen to the commentary for their episode on racism.

Part 1: Heh, a passing Lorde reference. …. Ugh, not these two. Mimsy…

Part 2: Well, this kinda sucks. Wait! HAHAHA MATTHEW MCCONAUGHEY!

Part 3: Wacky Races! AHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAH

I just vaguely remember Wacky Races but characters like Dick Dasterdly and the dog were hilarious. *dog laugh*

I’ve been miming the McConaughey commercials ever since I saw them. Long before South Park got paid to do so…

I didn't think it had anything to do with that (although Lothar's take on this may be more accurate). I just thought it was a plot-linker to Nathan's run-in with a shark. But I guess it could just be to blow a fat raspberry in people's faces.

It was on Cartoon Network all the time, but this had to be early to mid 90's.

Compared to the previous three episodes, the one from last night was pretty meh imo. I've seen worse, but to be honest, I am not a big fan of the episodes that don't star any of the main characters at all. Those are most often my least favorite and this is no different. There really were not that many funny segments. I'd say the best part of the episode was the ending - was hilariously evil.

I didn't really like this one. I don't like Nathan. The summer camp episode some seasons ago wasn't good either.

Yeah, I didn't really like that summer camp episode either.

Was watching this episode with my wife and I think we laughed more at this episode than any other this season (and I've loved all the episodes so far).

I'll be honest, I had no idea what Wacky Races was but apparently my wife did as she just started laughing when it came up, and the part with all the adults buying up cereal.

Hmm wacky racers was definitely shown on UK tv in the early nineties because I remember watching it as a kid. I used to love dick dastardly and muttly, thought they were hilarious back then.

Decent ep, wacky racers definitely made it a lot better. First half was kinda meh, a few moments where I laughed but nothing like last episode where I was laughing the whole way through.

Not really sure how to react to the disabled kid rape scene either.

They used to show Wacky Waces, Flintstones, Jetsons and Scooby Doo literally all the time back in the 90s in the UK. Can't remember which channel though. I also watched Dastardly and Muttley in their flying machines constantly on VHS

So yeah I got the references. I uh...still thought the episode was weak.

Oh, they need to come back in future episodes and do the Catch The Pigeon thing!

Wish I wouldn't have skimmed through the thread before watching, wacky races would've been a hell of a surprise. I loved the wavy race though, seeing dick dastardly and muttley was the cherry on top.

I've been saying shut up mimzy all day lol.

When he punched mimzy after mimzy told himself to shut up was great, "hey mimzy" "what?"
