I can't see how this season won't end with Wendy breaking up with Stan. Dude's been taking a big relationship L all season.

Episode is great so far. No continuity stuff so far though.
am i correct in thinking that the last episode to have a follow-on gag was Wacky Races, where Randy quickly went past riding in a car singing about being Lorde?

In the Freemium Isn't Free episode, Grandpa and Stan kick their gambling/mobile game addictions by playing modern board games (pic below, all real games). In this last episode, they're playing Magic in a board game shop with some of the same games in the background. This explains how the kids got introduced to MtG. Same as Magic, new gen board games have seen in a big surge in popularity in recent years.

Wow great catch, I didn't even connect the two.

It's interesting how the continuity this season has been met with such a positive reaction. Is that mostly in part because of the trend recently of continuity in popular TV shows?

Would this kind of continuity have had the same kind of reaction, say, 5 years ago? 10 years ago?

I just watched Grounded Vindaloop because my DVR didn't record it and I have to say it was one of the best episodes in a few seasons. Loved the ending.

I think it would've been met with the same reaction. Arrested Development (one of the kings of continuity comedy imo) was doing it back in 2003.

That episode was unbelievable. Never thought we'd get an MTG SP crossover.
I didn't play MTG a lot, only for a year, still was pretty great (not that I knew any of the cards being played). Now on to some real cock magic though

i never even caught this. nice one

Episode was pretty funny. Probably one of my least favorites this season, but Randy as usual was hilarious.

The Amazingly Randy is the perfect name.

Damn, good observation.

But no, seriously you're right. Callbacks are a great style of humor that reward observant/regular viewers and go a long way in establishing a genuine universe for a show. They imply that a character's actions have weight and consequence when the norm for episodic TV is wiping the slate clean after each episode.

I've said it before, but the ongoing references have really pulled me back into a weekly South Park viewer; something I haven't been in years. And props to Jado for the mtg/board game connection. It might be the convenient influence of someone on the staff that legit likes tabletop gaming, but I'm willing to buy in to the connection. Because I don't want them to stop.

Also AD is my favorite tv show of all-time, hands down.

This season has been one of the best seasons in years. I'm loving the continuity and I hope it becomes a new trend for South Park. I would love to see a cliffhanger this season and we'll have to wait until next year for a conclusion. I know they've done it a couple of times before but it would be cool to find out this season has been building up to something a bit bigger.

Season 19 Premiere: Not Without My Anus 2

Hey guys, which episodes from this season would you say were the best? South Park has been hit or miss for me in the past couple of seasons so I figured I'd start with what other people liked.

The Cissy is great but makes more sense with the continuity of the previous episode Gluten Free Ebola which isn't as fun.

The Magic Bush is pretty good.

Freemium isn't Free is great.

Grounded Vindaloop as mentioned.

And Cock Magic.

The rest of the episodes are decent, the last seasons have been hit or miss for me too.

This is exactly what I was looking for, appreciate it.

All the sequences that had the chickens/roosters actually fighting each other wasn't funny at all, IMO. Honestly not sure if they we're suppose to be
It does really feel like the episode was supposed to go in a different direction originally, with the girls subplot not really amounting to anything, but that Randy's stuff was so amazing that they just ran with it instead.

Finally got around to watching Cock Magic, best episode of the season. I don't even play or follow Magic but I had tears in my eyes. South Park at its best.

Just out of curiousity how many people who still watch this show and enjoy it, have been watching it since the beginning or at least started in season 2/3?

Considering I was 4 when it released, I think I've only been following every episode since season 10.

Wouldn't be surprised if I have seen every episode though.

Since the beginning.

Ep.9 #Rehash

Kyle just wants to play video games with his little brother. But, when Ike doesn't want to play with him anymore, Kyle is afraid that the next generation is passing him by.

I started watching it back in 1999 or so as did most people I know in person. We were all just getting into high school at that point, so it was a perfect fit for us.

All of those mates of mine who watched it then still watch it and like it just as much, if not more.

Yep! Started watching since the beginning in Australia, our group even made the strict catholic school ban South park. That didn't last too long thankfully. Funnily enough we moved our obsession to Magic the Gathering that same year.
