South Park Stick of Truth will not use Uplay

Exactly my thoughts. Heh, watch it end up having something unbelievably heinous like StarForce.

Sweet, where?

Where from?

Please show me the way.

The strategy guide maybe?

Show us the money!

Various trading sites. They're not super sketchy russian cd key stealers or anything. You just have to find the right guy and trade some tf2 keys (easily purchasable off the steam marketplace) for a copy of it.

I always forget to look around for things like that. Thanks. I will look around and see what I can find.

I saw a bunch on reddit going for $15 ROW. I think this games sales are fucked for the hardcore.
I wouldn't worry too much. They're bound to be the top seller on Steam come release week. If the game is actually good it will do quite well and have good legs. You'd be surprised how adament people are in only buying through steam.

If there really is no uPlay with this game, I will buy it.

If it does turn out to require uPlay, there's no way in hell I'll give them my money.

They just said that not only does it not have uplay but it's a steamworks game :lol. The language Obsidian used was pretty clear and concise, it doesn't leave a lot of room for doubt.

Here. You need to use tf2 keys though. But that's just spending a few minutes on the steam market if you don't have any laying around.

Edit: Yeah use the link below me, probably easier for ya.

Thank for the help and for reminding me that there are other places to look. I managed to snag myself a copy for 22 bucks in the buy/sell/trade thread here on NeoGAF. I might of been able to get it cheaper somewhere else, but I feel better getting it from a gaffer with a good reputation.

Now the question is what does the Amazon version count as... still, if that activates in Steam I'll be VERY happy.

They provide details about the people playing the game to the company. Companies love data. Companies love people creating accounts for systems related to their company. That kind of data is future money, basically.

Uplay makes me not want to boot up Far Cry 3 even when I feel like playing it, then I just go back to TF2.

So there's that data too.

Seeing as they're one of the few distributors that actively goes out of their way to get Steam keys, I'd be surprised if they offered anything but them.

Great news!

I always wonder if people at Ubisoft/EA know how many people hate their system. GFWL already died because of it. But I guess they still see enough profit that they don't care.

I suspect EA knows and is actively trying to improve it. I think most people actually hate it because it means a game doesn't show up on Steam more than anything else, and it's a sentiment I share to an extent. Uplay's kind of the inverse there: games show up on Steam, but it's a poorly working middle man that really annoys or outright frustrates most of us.

When's that exclusive PC delay happening, Ubi?

Probably not happening because of similar reasons it's not Uplay. Ubi tends to stay relatively hands off for games that independent devs make for them.

I say this with my fingers crossed. Hopefully I didn't just jinx it.

The cheap key trading thing has always sounded a bit risky to me. As I understand it people use a store glitch to buy cheap games for RU prices that aren't listed as RU. But Valve could change that right?

Yea true, the only reason I still get Ubi games is because they still appear in my Steam library. Yet every time I launch a game that has it I hate myself.

I'm just worried EA makes too much money too care. I saw a Francis video earlier, the new dungeon keeper has a 99 dollar gem pack.. and they get away with it because people buy it. Same with Origin, Battlefield still pulls in big numbers I would think.

So if I buy this through Uplay I'll have that stupid Steam client pop up every time I want to play it? And no Uplay achievements/rewards? Fuck that.
