Speaking of Xbox updates, are they ever going to fix

iPhone Support or Die. Grrr.

Any how do you propose MS support this?
Iphone & Touch database is encrypted and only readable by iTunes
Do you want them to support streaming by WiFi? Streaming over wireless is prone to buffering issues and drop-outs.

Problem I have with 360 media sharing is that i'm in a house with a bunch of other students and we all have different media sharing programs up. When 2 TVersity's are running the 360 randomly decides which one to use. The others TVersity's won't show up.

Just a quick semi-OT question:
When I set it to 1080p, the .avi files (non-HD) are not full-screen. It's boarders around it, both above, under and on the sides. If I turn it to 720p, it's full screen on the same files.

Is this a common bug, that people are hoping will be fixed?

Some guy on Google had the same problem on PS3, only though that was a settings issue:

Maybe I should check the in-video settings, but it's strange that it's changed for resolutions.
dont know with the PS3, but I would assume that because 1080p is a higher resolution that your video is a lower resolution than 1080p, and the PS3 cant/wont stretch the video to fit fullscreen past its resolution..

and 720p is obviously lower than 1080, check the resolution on the video

also is it me or is the OP ignoring the people saying the problem is that he is trying to set up media center on the 360, while setting up media extender on the PC?

they are two different things

Wow, actually page 2 fixed it. Actually a couple of you guys were right, just forget about media center and just go into videos, hit X and select my PC. (That guide actually walked me through switching sources.)

Thanks for the help.

see, it was that simple

I think streaming videos on the old dashboard was more obvious, I forgot how you did it. as I got confused at first when they switched to this new way

I told not to use the Media Center Connection on page 1...

What does that even mean?

I have a 4:3 screen that also supports the widescreen HDTV aspect ratio, when I'm in HDTV mode on games like COD4 it's in HDTV and there are black bars on the top and bottom of my screen, but when I play games like Megaman 9 which are in 4:3 it doesn't auto fill the entire screen like it does automatically when i watch a fullscreen DVD.

Maybe its because I didnt get enough sleep or something but I can barely understand you.

From what I can gather you have a 4:3 TV that has a letterbox mode (black bars on top and bottom), but beyond that I cant make anything out.

Sorry I'm out of it, yeah it's a 4:3 TV with an HDTV Letterbox mode for Hi Def gaming and what not.

When I play games on disk like COD4, it plays in that widescreen mode, when I play 4:3 DVDs it auto swtiches to 4:3, but when I play videos off my harddrive or games like Megaman 9 it doesn't auto switch to 4:3, it stays in widescreen, unless I switch that thing on the video cable to switch between display modes which is a pain in the ass.

Yup that's true but you've got to admit it is a bit confusing. (I mean go into videos even though it looks like it hasn't found anything and then select a machine.) Figures I probably had a connection the most of the time and it was just buried behind a menu.

Do you actually have an HDTV? Because it seems like you dont. Either way try turning off letterbox mode on your TV. On your 360 AV cable there should be a switch. Make sure that it is switched to TV and not HDTV. Turn on your 360, go to the system blade, and select console settings. Select display, then HDTV settings, and then 480p. Back out to the display settings and select screen format. Choose normal and then back out to the dashboard.

Try out a game or a movie and see how it looks. It should take up the whole screen. If you dont like that and would prefer to have black bars at the top and bottom of your screen Go into the XBox 360 system blade, console settings and then select display. Select screen format ans choose widescreen. Back out to the dashboard, and then on your TV turn on letterbox mode. There should now me black bars on the top and bottom of your screen.

does the xbox 360 support mpeg 2 files or is there a fix? My Xbox 360 will not even recognize some files.

some mpeg 2's i can change the extension to wmv or avi and it will recognize it, but it doesn't always work, just wanted to know if maybe i was doing something wrong

oh and on the flipside my ps3 will recognize mpeg 2 but can not play all wmv files, matter of fact there are a lot of wmv's it can not seem to play, any fix for that as well?

Assuming you're talking about the 360, when watching the video, hit the A button. In the options that pop up, one of them is to set the screen size. Go through the size/stretching settings until you get the one that fills the screen.
