Special, Limited and Collector's Edition 2010

The Divine Edtion of Dante's Inferno for the PS3 really pissed me off. It said it came with a bonus soundtrack, but it turned out it was just a couple 30 second samples of songs that could only be listened to when the game disk was in the PS3.
 
Did get Alan Wake. Was worth the extra 100kr I guess. Game commentary is kind of unfortunately dumb though. It works for movies because they're generally around 2 hours. I'm not gonna replay a 10 hour game just to hear the commentary. Makes more sense to turn that into a making of feature.

Might get Gran Turismo 5 Collector's (Signature is fucked).
I like books basically (not art ones). There's a point to those. They're not just gonna stand in a shelf or lie in a drawer/closet somewhere. I can read through them first. I think there's value there.
 
I'm absolutely no fan of those excessive releases of LE's and SE's but damn I'd like to get the PAL Castlevania and the JP Okamiden ones.

Should system bundles count also, if the system variation is unique to the bundle? That would add the Silver Halo Reach 360, the MGS Green/Camo PSP bundles, and the upcoming GoW Ghost of Sparta bundle.

Again, I heard this is not coming to Europe from a friend who works in a gameshop. I live in the Netherlands.

Could it be that certain parts of Europe doesn't get this? He also said USA and JP only.

Ordered Castlevania: Lords of Shadow CE yesterday. Ended up going with the PS3 version over the 360, mostly because I feel like I'll be more comfortable playing this with a DS3.
 
Is there anything special about the Tron Evolution CE? Because it's...$130 and just comes with a car statue toy thing. How big is it supposed to be? Is it die-cast metal?

Feel free to add whatever you like. (Just keep the picture reasonable size). I forgot about that MGS pack.

I saw the tron statue at PAX and it looks kinda lame but I am not sure if that's just the test shot for promo .... as far as scale the base of the display suppose to house the game case, so that give you an idea rougly how big it is.
 
mhhh would be nice if the pictures in the OP would link to the respective content descriptions.
Also a few things are a bit misleading like which edition is available in which region (the LBP2 one is so far US only, the DR2 zombrex edition is different between PAL and USA etc.)


btw there better be a PAL CE of the FFXIV PS3 version with that map and I want them announce the PAL LBP2 CE already, with the plushy Sackboy! >:|

It is not meant to be comprehensive listing of all things LE, if you want that here is a good website (though he doesn't always put up PR picture), but often have nice pictures of when he actuallly got the items.

I put the list up as just a brief guide of what coming out. I figure in this day and age of Goggle and bing you can probably pull up more info than I could ever find time to list and probably see where they are available for sale. There are a lot of local special and limited edition and it would be daunting task to list them all especially including the contents.

May be next year when I have better headstart I will start collecting information and make it more comprehensive.

Regarding LBP, look like someone here was correct it's being move to next year anyway. They were selling the plush at PAX. I though the bookend is kinda strange thing to include with the special edition but may be I am missing something since I am not a big LBP fan.

I HATE commentaries that require me to play and listen at the same time. Bungie did it right with Reach Legendary Commentary. They simply played footage of the game with all cutscenes and some gameplay from start to finish and talked about the process and ideas. It was great to sit back and listen to. and guess what? it's only 2 hours. the way you like it.

David Cox, the producer of the game, said it's coming but that the EU LE might be delayed. The LE looks good but I'm content with the US LE.
 
I'm also hoping there's a PS3 CE for FF14, ideally the same (with more) as the PC CE. They've got a bunch of time to announce it though, with the game releasing nearly Q2 2011. Probably going to announce it after the holidays and after PC FF14's big launch hype.

Thanks for the link to that CE site. I'm among one of the biggest suckers for CE's on games I'm interested in, you guys should have seen my hauls from Q4 2008 and 2009.:lol I really should start posting in the monthly pick-up threads.

I didn't know ps3 version of FF14 is that far off, I though it was coming about the same time as PC version.

I love CE stuff also, it just take me back to see game in nice packaging and not one of those ugly case with holes in the them and 2 pages manual... This is how I look at it, the CE and SE are games like how they USED to be sold and the standard edition are the strip down 'value' edition for those who want to spend less on games. People complain a lot about game price, but for me who grew up with $60.00 Atari Pac-man (on 2600) and $50 to 60 cartridge games, I think most of today games are bargain. Or may be I just have more disposable income now.
 
So much crap. I'm suprised the Bayonetta pink gun hasn't made it into the thread yet.

The only reason I'll bite is a decent art book. And it has to be Blizzard/WoW/SC2 decent. Not some tiny piece of crap that can fit into a console game sized tin - eg. Gears of War SE.

So far i've ordered: Star wars force unleashed 2 CE ordered, Assassins creed brotherhood Codex edition and GT 5 Signature, COD black ops big thing.

Will get the LBP2 and Dead space 2 ones whenever they appear and going to ebay the Atelier Rorona LE from USA.
 
I'm such a sucker for CE's. I always...always buy them. Most of the time I admit I don;t actually do anything with the extra's (though I will watch a making-of). But if there's stuff like a figurine included I'll always display it in my game room. It's art books and soundtracks that are useless to me. I'll riffle through an art book, but then close it and never use it again. I've never ever listened to any OST included in any CE. But that's mostly due to my opinion that game music these days is arse.

That was false info. Game.co.uk (the only ones that sell it in the UK) reported this, but Konami quickly rectified this. You could order it from them up until a few days ago I think, but it's gone off the site now. My order is still open though, so i'm hoping it goes through.

I recently joked about a Helghast helmet in the KZ3 CE :lol
Though it appears to be quite big? Should have included one you could actually wear then :P

But I don't get why they include another figure on top of it? This will be quite an expensive CE.

I hope PAL gets a CE w/o the plastic crap but with the theme+OST+map+pack SUPER voucher.
